Ethan's POV

Ethan: Hey Em – 7:00 PM
Ethan: Emma, what's up? – 7:30 PM
What the fuck? I thought to myself. What's up with Emma? She always answers my messages.

I decided to give her some time, then I would text her again.

Ethan: Emma, what's the matter? Are you okay? – 8:00 PM

After that, I sent about ten more messages and called five times, but still got no answer. Panic started creeping in. I knew Emma was home alone, so I decided to go over to her place.

I grabbed the car keys and rushed outside. My heart was pounding as I drove as fast as I could to her house. The door was half open, and the lights were on.

Something's not right.

I ran inside, my mind racing. I checked her room—empty. I ran to her bathroom—nothing.

Where could Emma be? I thought, my stomach sinking.

"EMMA!" I shouted, rushing down the stairs. As I was about to run outside, I heard a noise in the kitchen.

"Emma, is that you?" I called, walking toward the sound.

What I saw made my blood run cold.

What the fuck?

Emma was lying on the floor, blood covering her hand and neck.

"Emma—what happened to you?" I said, kneeling beside her, gently lifting her head.

"Austin...," she whispered weakly.

Austin. The name hit me like a ton of bricks.

I'm going to kill that motherfucker.

I carefully scooped her up and carried her to the car. Once she was safely in the backseat, I dialed Jehu's number.

"Yeah?" Jehu answered.

"Something's wrong with Emma," I said, my voice shaking with anger. "I'm taking her to the hospital. I'll meet you guys at East Side."

"What's wrong with her?" Jehu asked.

"Austin," I growled.

I slammed the phone down on the seat and floored the gas pedal. I drove to the hospital as fast as I could, barely aware of anything except Emma's condition.

When I arrived, I ran inside with her.

"Nurse! Nurse!" I shouted.

A group of nurses rushed toward us with a wheelchair, and I gently placed Emma in it.

"Take care of her," I said, trying to steady my voice. "I'll be back."

I turned and walked out of the hospital, my fists clenched. I rushed back to the car, my mind consumed with rage.

I drove straight to East Side, where I knew the others would be waiting.

Those motherfuckers messed with the wrong girl, I thought, gripping the wheel. We're going to show them who the fuck we are.

When I arrived, Jehu was the first to approach.

"You like her, don't you?" Jehu asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, J, I like her," I said through gritted teeth. "And I will kill Austin if it's the last thing I do."
