She was like many things yet nothing at all

She was like the sun
Bright but if you got to close you'd be burned
She was like a winter night
A frosty and dark exterior
She had towering walls surrounding her and each brick was piled on strong
As time passed her walls only reached up higher, closing her off
She was like many things
Yet mostly she was simply vulnerable
She was beautiful despite never seeing it
She was strong despite her always thinking she was weak
You could compare her to people but truth is, no one was like her
She was a creature of her own
She was a fiery spirit
But if only she had loved herself like she had loved him
