The Evaluation (Part 1)

I stood with Ozpin as all the students listen diligently to his words. They were lined up, side by side.

"For years, you have trained to become warriors" started the headmaster. "And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest". Goodwitch spoke up with a touchscreen in her arms.

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams" stated Goodwitch. "Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates. Today."

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon" I informed. "So it is your best interest to be paired with someone whom you can work well."

"That being said" Ozpin cut me off. "The first person you make eye contact with after will be your partner for the next four years. Some of the students started reacting to the situation.

"What?!"

"See! I told you!"

"Once you partnered up," continued Ozpin. "make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die". I face palm. Great support, Ozpin! A girl with short orange hair smiled at this. I like her. Confident. "You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path, containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"

"Yeah," responded a blonde in armor. "um, sir-"

"Good". I face-palmed. "Now, take your positions". The students took a stance, each unique from the other, except the blonde that Ozpin cut off earlier. He was raising his hand.

"Uh sir... I've got um... a question" he stated. Students were already being launched at this point. "So, this landing strategy thing... What is it? You're like dropping us off or something?"

"No" I said. "You will be falling".

"Oh..." he responded. "I see... So, like... Did you hand out parachutes for us?"

"No. You will be using your own landing strategy"

"Uh-huh...ya. So, um, what exactly is a landing strategy?". At the end of 'strategy', he was launched into the air with all the other students. We just watch them as if they were fireworks. I actually find this amusing. I take out my touchpad to watch the first-years. I clicked on the icon to see Ruby. I see a black raven instead of the fifteen year-old. two seconds later, I see Ruby run into the bird.

"BIRDY! NO!" she yells and I laugh at her actions. I watch her epic landing and move on to the next student; a girl with a long, white ponytail with a rapier. She uses her semblance to bounce to the ground. I still think Ruby's was cooler. Next! Thus one was a guy. He had a low, black ponytail with a pink streak. His outfit seemed like a cross between traditional and modern. He used the blades on his guns to swirl down the tree. This guy is impressive. Next was Yang. She used fire to make her way through the sky. She finally lands on the ground after bouncing off a few trees.

"Nailed it!" she compliments herself. Next was Pyrrha. Yay! Holding her mini-spear in her right hand and her shield in her left, she destroys the trees in front of her. Note to self, Pyrrha is a dick to trees. She lands on a tree limb and aims her mini-spear at something. I move to the next student, the blonde in armor. He's falling, and falling and falling. I see a familiar weapon pin him to a tree. Pyrrha.

"Thank you!" he yells.

"I'm sorry!" Pyrrha yells back. I go back to Ruby and I see her running. She stops suddenly and I see the white-haired girl. They stare at each other for a good few seconds before albino-head walked off.

"Wait!" yells Ruby. "Where are you going? We're supposed to be teammates..." I laugh slightly at this. Hey! I'm not mean! I go Ice Queen's camera to see where she was going. Ruby's not wrong. She struggles through the plant life. I hear muttering and see the blonde still pinned by Pyrrha's mini-spear. Is it bad that a teacher doesn't know that name of her students? He makes contact with the white girl (I'm not being racist) and she walks away. She grabs Ruby's hood and drags her along.

"By no means does this make us friends" she says, trying to preserve her pride.

"You came back!" yells Ruby, enthusiastically. I wonder how Pyrrha's doing, her being withough her weapon and all. I go to her camera to see that she was not far off from where I was just looking t.

"Jaune?" she yells up the blonde. So that's his name! Jaune looks down at the red-head. "Do you have any spots left on your team?" she asks, almost mocking.

"Very funny" he responds. As much as I was to support my best friend, I'm bored. I go through the other camera's. I land on Ruby's sister. She was still partnerless.

"Hellllloooo!!!!" she calls out. "Is anyone out there? Hellooooo?! I'm getting bored here!" There was rustling behind her. "Is someone there?" She walks towards the sound. "Ruby! Is that you?" She peeks through the bushes to see two ursi. "Nope!". She dodges one of the ursi's attacks and activates her gauntlets. One of them launches itself towards her and she punches it in the stomach, sending it launching. she does a different on the other one. "You guys wouldn't happen to see a girl in a red hood, would you?" They just growl at the blonde. "You could just say no!" On starts trying to claw her. She flips back and laughs at it. "Geez, you two couldn't hit the broad side of a-". She sees a trand of her yellow hair float to the ground. "You!" She closes her eyes and opens them, to reveal her once purple eyes were now red. "You monster!" Fire blasts around her and she full on attacks. Punch after punch after punch after punch. She launches one through some tree and looks behind her. She looks at the ursa. "What! You want some too!?" There was a slicing sound. The ursa falls to the ground to reveal Blake. She retracts her hook and smirks mockingly at the blonde. "I could've taken him".
