Huo's pov:
I woke up quite early in the morning and wrote a letter addressed for Tigress to apologize for my actions. I know she wouldn't have stopped and listened to me if I told her face to face, she seems like the type to fight her problems away or avoid them by punching them in the face.
I got up from my bed and snuck out of my room and went over to Tigress'. Everyone besides Master Shifu and probably some early birds here were still asleep, so I took the opportunity to walk stealthily to Tigress' room and slip the letter under the door. After that I went back to my room and took a nap for a little while until everyone was awake.
Tigress' pov:
I groaned and woke up the next morning to do a little stretching to wake up a little. Once I was sober and awake and fix myself up and went to go out of my room only to find a letter by the door that had most likely been slipped under the door. 'I assume it's from Huo.', I thought. It did come from Huo. 'Probably to seduce me.', I thought. I opened the letter and started to read what was inside, surprised it wasn't as all as I thought it would be.
Dear Tigress,
I apologize for making you leave the group yesterday. It wasn't my intention to have you make an ill image of me, but I couldn't control myself and that is still no excuse for my actions in upsetting you.
Anyways, I need to talk with you in person and privately. Meet me at the bamboo forest at midnight. If you don't come, I'll find some way to get you one way or another. ~ HuoOf course Huo is going to get me. He has this some sort of immediate obsession with me ever since he woke up. Maybe I am starting to like him too– Wait what?! No! I hate him! He is an idiot! He is also a pervert! I would rather die than be with him! But I guess I don't have a choice but to meet him otherwise he'll just come and get me.
~ time skip ~
It was midnight and everyone was already sleeping in their rooms I snuck outside the dormitory before leaving the Jade Palace and ran towards the bamboo forest to meet Huo. I got there in a few minutes, but then I realized I didn't know where to go to meet him. I decided to wander around a bit to see if I could find him and then thought I was lost after a few minutes of wandering around. I then found Huo in a clearing and he was looking at me.
Huo's pov:
I saw Tigress look at me after she thought she had gotten lost. When I saw her my heart began to flutter and there were butterflies in my stomach. 'She actually came.', I thought. I was sure she would ignore my letter and not meet me here but, then again, I didn't give her much of a choice as I said I would come for her if she didn't come meet me.
"What do you want, Huo?", she said rather rudely, but I didn't mind.
"Tigress, I'm so sorry I made you leave the other day, I really am. When you left, it felt like I was being broken into pieces all over again."
"What do you mean by 'again'?"
I hesitated to tell her, but she's my mate. I could tell her about my past, but there was a risk in doing that because she might call the guards to arrest me.
I just sighed and said, "My parents were the leaders of a my homeland, the Black Tiger Clan. A traitor in my homeland sought to kill my parents and framed them for murder and they were beheaded. I barely even knew them before they died. We caught the traitor fortunately, but every village surrounding my homeland already heard of the lie the traitor said and that gave our clan a bad reputation.
"At the age of fifteen, my older sister took the title as leader when I parents had died. She strived to bring back the good name of our clan, but then we were ambushed. I was only six years old when it happened. Taotie's family was a rival of mine, so it was no surprise to see that a couple of his relatives had ambushed our clan with machines and killed us off. My older sister and brother tried to help our defenses in protecting the clan, but it was in vain when everyone was killed.
"I was the only one left. I ran away and lived on my own, seeking vengeance on Taotie. I don't want to be alone again... Please, forgive me, Tigress...," I sounded pathetic, I know, but it still hurt to remember what had happened. She only looked at me with pity and then hugged me. I stiffened a bit, shocked, but I still hugged her back.
"I understand, Huo. I didn't know my parents either. I was only told that they left me on the doorstep of the Jade Palace.", wait a minute. Was she? She can't be Tora! Hu and Bai's daughter died! Well, that's what we had been told. Does that mean Lee Shang's son is alive too? I'll have to tell Tigress another time.
I was suddenly caught off guard when she leaned over and kissed me right on the lips. I was shocked at first, surprised that she was the one to take initiative, but then kissed her back. I felt my heart warming up and I felt complete. I've never felt more whole as with her, she really was my mate. I know it might be too early for me to say this, but...
I love her.
Tigress' pov:
I told Huo how I was left on the doorstep of the Jade Palace and I still felt sad for him when he told me his story. I grew angry towards Taotie for his family killing off Huo's family and I promised to myself that I would help Huo get revenge on Taotie however way I can. I kinda also shocked myself when I had took the initiative to lean over and plant a kiss on him, but I found myself growing into the kiss, my heart fluttering. I never wanted to let go any time soon, but that's when I realized that...
I liked him.
