It was the middle of april, i've only lived here for less than a week and I still don't even know my way around London, England yet. I know for many people this would take a freakishly long time to get use to My dad got a job as an architect in this company that he started year's ago with my mom. Who am I kidding he's been an architect his whole life, since he has eight well running company's he has to go there and of corse he can't go alone for all that time so he drags us with him. I mean let's name the places I've moved in the past three years; San Diego California, Berlin Germany, Rome Italy, where I just lived North Carolina, and now London England

The company took of pretty quick so both my parents, puppy soccer, and I had to move all the way from a small town right on the beach in North Carolina. We were scheduled to be moving in the begging August, so I could finish being a freshman in high school, but something came up so we had to move to London as soon as we could. The only thing that was driving me crazy was how my parents were always telling me how this would be a new and exiting experience for me. The only thing that I wish could change was how my parents told me that we were moving out of the country, just when I had started high school.

Three days went by much faster than I thought they were going to be, It was already Monday which meant it was my first day of high school, yes in London. Walking right by the big wooden front door of Birchwood High School felt so much different than I would have ever thought. Just when I look around the building it looked like any other high school, the only thing was the people are so much different than I would have ever imagined. Yes imagined think of it, think of all the kind of things that a teenage girl could think of . All the kids except for me was wearing a uniform with just red which was more of a maroon color and gray sometimes navy blue, but everybody including the girls wore some sort of tie,so all the kids looked very similar. All the kids acted like they were going to meet the queen and royal family of any county.

The halls filled quickly as homeroom was just about to start. Some of the kids were just looking at me in an odd way and others just smiled while they kept walking with all their books that they were holding. You could tell the boys and girls held there books very different. The boys had there book in one arm leaning against there side hip. The girls on other hand had there books in both hands leaning against there chest but others the bottom of there books were just sitting on there stomach. I was just standing there looking like an idiot who was just there not even in a uniform and staring at everybody and watching how they act, there every move.. It looked like everyone was talking so it was quite load almost everyone was in groups going to class.

I usually had light colored skin but today I was a little more tan. and I was wearing my favorite skinny jeans that were ripped and my thick, hot pink "think like a lady act like a boss" sweatshirt and the only thing on my feet were my favorite pair of fancy yet casual silver flats. As my long brown curly hair flowed just right with my big brown eyes.

I see the main office out of the corner of my eye, so I open the door and walk in. I tell the lady at the desk my name and all she says is "have a seat sweetie" in a perky voice that was no where near normal. So I sit down and minutes passed. I was sitting in a chair that was just a couch or a really big chair with a couple fluffy decorative pillows. Then a lady who looked about in her 60's or 70's comes up to me and asks me if I was Lauren Smith but all I reply is "yeah thats me." Thinking I was going to sit there for hours she handed me a slip of paper that ended up to be my schedule; she just walked away grabbing a stack of papers that was laying on the desk beside me. When I start to look down at my schedule is see that my first class is in room 23 so I ask a teacher and she points me down a hall and says in a load voice "room 23 is the last one on the right."

Walking step by step, one foot at a time I get to my first class with Mr. Rant, not knowing what he teaches I had a pretty good idea it was math when I stepped into the room. When I take a seat 2 rows back towards the door, the teacher comes up to me and says "you must be our new girl from America" he paused then said my name in a hushed voice that was more like a whisper. I reply with "yeah I'm Lauren" as soon as I said that I thought every kid in the room was staring at me like I had three heads. It was everybody, except the one kid in the corner that was just picking his nose and was almost asleep. So it was pretty much every kid. Just because I was american and had an accent to them, it doesn't mean I don't speak english. I mean I was the only one with a normal voice or at least to me, because all the other kids and and this one kid from Germany had accents.
