"So like you don't have a dad.."Chloe asked, I rolled my eyes as I sat on the floor.
"That man out there is my father, this man in the picture is just the sperm that created me."I answered
"Faye...I-"I stopped her before she could continue.
"Let's go make some hot fudge sundaes with the family."I grabbed her hand and pushed her towards my room door and down the hall.
"You two ladies want to join the party?"Mother smiled as she placed a chips ahoy cookie on top of her sundae.
"Yes please.."We both eyed the delicious array of sugar sweets on the counter.
"Maurice whip cream me."I said with a serious face.
"Your lucky your mother didn't use it all."Maurice smirked before my mother gave him a look.
"I am going to give this soup to your sick daddy in his bed.."I watched as my mother lifted the tray with a sundae and some soup and exited the room. Chloe and I took this chance to jump on all the sweets and pig out on our sundaes.
She was snoring as soon as she hit the bed. I just laid there and thought about William. He wasn't that bad of a father but I hated him for making me grow up around a bunch of different women and weed. I let the tear escape before wiping it and going to sleep.
---
"Mom, I'm home!"I shouted"No here sweetie."I heard my mother call from the living room. She sounded poised and calmed. I slowly dropped my book bag and made my way to her voice. I didn't even have to see his face to know it was him.
"William."I sucked in a breathe and clenched my fists together before letting them go.
Calm down Faye
"Faye...I've missed you. Look at how much you have grown."He spoke kindly and stood to hug me which was not returned.
"What are you doing here?"
"You are spending the weekend with you dad. He has a daughter he would really like you to get to know. She is the same age as you."My mother stood and smiled warmly at me.
I nodded slowly and made my way to my room quickly packing my things and my cell phone.
I was close to tears."William why don't you go wait outside..She'll be out a minute."My mother ordered and watched as she left. Once the door closed I buried my face into her chest and cried.
"You call me every night you hear. Try and have fun baby girl."I nodded and laughed as she wiped my tears, pushing me towards the door.
I sat in the back with my seatbelt, waving at my mother like a child from the movies. I turned back and slumped into my seat.
This is going to be a long weekend.
