We pulled up to a three story house, nothing like my house at home. There she was my sister standing outside with her mother waiting on my arrival. I put a smile on my face and accepted the hugs they gave me. I was sitting at the dinner table observing how we looked alike she had my same eyes and skin complexion. I couldn't deny her being my sister at all.
"Faye."She nudged me slightly and everyone was looking at me.
awkward.
"I'm sorry what?"
"School..They are asking how is school."
"School is school same ol same ol. Nothing new."I answered shrugging my shoulder and stabbing my fork into my broccoli. I couldn't wait for this to be over.
Pretty soon Jade was dragging me through the house to our room. They put a bed in a room that you would barely ever be using.
"I have the most amazing weekend for us planned."She was excited.
"It's been kind of lonely being an only child.."She confessed after we had a heart to heart.
"Your lucky Jade, that you got to see the very best side of him.."I nodded my head before smiling.
"But you have a new dad now and an old dad. Just remember that your old dad cleaned himself up for us."She rested her head on my shoulder.
"It's hard not to dislike you when we act so much alike."I murmured.
"I know sis, Believe me I know."She nodded and we laid down continuing our conversation about our plans for the weekend. She dressed a lot different than me. She was into dark colors and suttle undertones while my wardrobe varied.
"Hey I know we've just met and all but could I ask your opinion on something?"She murmured lowly.
"Anything, Anytime..I'm here for you sis."I smiled.
"Well first off I'm into girls and their is this girl I like...but I don't know if she likes me. She is constantly sending me mixed signals.."She twisted her fingers together.
"My friend Chloe is secretly into girls too she thinks I don't know but I do..and I think that you should face her and tell her how you feel. Tell her that those mixed signals that she is sending does not help. Will we bump into her anytime this weekend?"I asked.
"She lives next door literally."I gasped
"Seriously?"I jumped up eyeing the door and looking back at Jade.
"Yes she lives next door and why did you suddenly stand?"She breathed slowly eyeing me.
"Follow my lead."I grinned and sped for the door slamming it shut and raced for the front door. I sprinted across the lawn to her house I knocked on the door. Luckily she answered.
"Hi, I am sorry but I've been walking all over town and I am looking for the William Residence?"I breathed and smiled catching my breathe.
"Hey Faye!!"Jade shouted, jogging across the lawn sending me daggers. I watched her eyes bulge and her smile widen.
"Hi Jade."She muttered, turning her head.
"Hey Nicki" She waved nervously.
"Hi, I'm her sister Faye."I extended my hand and shook hers.
"I'm tired Faye, I'm just going to go in the house."I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair before retreating back to the house laughing the whole way. I watched intently from her room window. They seemed equally nervous and equally into each other as I thought.
"Ha."I laughed and walked to the kitchen. I took several fruits, vanilla yogurt and honey.
"Thanks to you Faye, I have a date with my crush."She huffed pointing to the cabinet with a blender.
"Sweetie..I'm your sister. I will help you through this. Now is there any terribly cute guys in your town if not I'll have to call mine."I placed the ice into the blender and began to blend my smoothie together.
"Oh yeah call your hottie, the boys down here are terrible..Hey! We can double date!!"She perked up.
"No, Jade you are doing this on your own I will be sitting at a table where you can see me..got it!"I pointed a strong finger at her and put the smoothie in her hand.
I dialed Andrew's number and waited for his voice. We had recently become exclusive and we were in the honeymoon phase of our relationship
"Hey cutie."
"Hey Drew, Do you think you could come to TurkesTown. I'm with my real dad and my sister needs help with a date so I need a date."I rambled.
"I mean if you aren't busy..are you busy? I really need you..I miss you as a matter of fact and I'll stop talking."I bit down on my tongue and groaned.
"Of course, I have to see my grandmother anyway..I will call you when I arrive."I almost shrieked into the phone but I waited until he hung up to scream.
"See.Jade I got your back."I winked and we both sat in her room watching movies. Later on that night we pulled up to a small burger spot. I was hugging drew as we sat down and ordered.
Eve and my sister came in a few minutes later. I didn't bother standing up but I just pointed at them introducing him silently.
"When will I be able to meet your mom and dad?"He murmured.
"In due time...I have to prep them first."I giggled. I was looking over at Eve's table and watched my sister clam up. I sat back and told her to breathe with over exaggerated hand motions.
********
"I has a great time Andrew."I kissed him lightly and pecked his cheek."see you at school?"I nodded and slowly backed away into the house waiting for my sister to finish her conversation with Eve so we could go in
"See you at school"He nodded, smiling and getting into his truck. My heart fluttered lightly as I thought about the date and him kissing me. It was a nice feeling.
