Part 5: Supply Hunting

The next morning the sun rose over the yellow sand dunes in the distance, in the process eradicating the darkness of the moon and night, as the sun got higher in the sky over the truck our group was settled in the rays of light shined through the windows, in the rear bedroom Decker was laid out under the sheets in the light still fast asleep, as the sun got higher in the sky it shined onto his closed eye's, this disturbed him and he opened one eye, the sun instantly blinded him in its glaring light, he then pulled a hand from under the sheets and blocked out the sun, he then gave out a grone and pulled the sheets off of himself, he looked around and Lilith was no ware in sight as he pulled himself to the side of the bed and sat upright, he remembered what happened last night between him and her, he remembered what the kiss was like, it wasn't serious, no tongue in other's mouth but a simple lips on lips moment, even though it was simple he enjoyed every moment of it, but then the thought of it being all a dream crossed his mind, he then wiped his lips with the back of his hand and looked at it, the red smear of Lilith's lipstick on his hand proved it actually happened, he then broke a smile on his face, "well Decker you finally kissed a girl other than your mother" he thought happily to himself, he then put his shoes on, got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom, hearing noises from the front as he walked up the corridor he guessed the others we up.

After opening the door and walking into the front the strong smell of breakfast was in the air, Lilith was at the counters operating a coffee machine, Kahn was having another MRE and Oz was having a cup of coffee both sitting at the table, "morning guys" Decker said in a tired morning tone, Lilith then turned and noticed him at the door, "oh hi Decker, how did you sleep?", she replied, "ahh I've slept better" Decker said back, he then looked at Oz who looked a bit grouchy, "hey Oz you look like shit, what's wrong?" Decker asked him, "I'm fine Decker, it's just I would've had a great night's sleep if someone wasn't snoring so loudly" Oz replied in an angry tone slowly looking at Kahn, "look I've never had a wife before and I've never slept with anyone in the same bed or in the same room before so I've never had a reason to fix my snoring" Kahn replied in his defence, "do you want to sleep in my bedroom now Oz? It's vacant but has some things broken in it" Lilith said to Oz, "whoa wait where are you sleeping now?" Oz replied confused, "err...I am...err" Lilith stuttered, she then looked at Decker who nodded positively, "I'm...sleeping with Decker" she said back at Oz, Kahn got a surprised look on his face, "wait I thought you two how do I say this...hated each other" he said to Lilith and Decker, "well things change, it's better to be a lover than a hater" Decker replied, "and also who was at my side when my own gun knocked me out, when I almost died from dehydration and when I hurt my leg?" Lilith added on, Kahn rolled his eyes, "okay okay you've made your point" he said back at the couple, Decker was still a bit drowsy and Lilith noticed this, she then grabbed a cup of coffee and held it under his nose, "here this will help you wake up" Lilith said kindly to Decker, two things would wake him up, either a shout from the security sergeant or a cup of the brown stuff, he quickly felt energetic, took the cup out of her hand and drank down half it in ten seconds, "thanks for that Lilith", he said to her, "now that all of us have had some sleep we need to find out where the hell we are" Oz said to the whole group, Kahn looked behind him at the drivers console and checked the sunshade, as he pulled it down some papers fell onto the driver's seat, sifting through them he found a road map, "this should hold something" he said to the rest, as he laid it out on the table Decker and Lilith came forward to look at it, Kahn ran his finger around the surface to find a reference point, he finally found the complex on the map, he traced across the access road to the dirt run-off, then through the desert to the warehouse and finally along the road to where they were currently, "okay were here" Kahn said pointing to the map "and there is a town half an hour away", " isn't it also going to be infested?" Lilith asked Kahn, "If that's the case we scavenge the town for anything we can use" Oz answered her, "well Kahn let's get this show on the road" Decker said joyfully.
