Part 12: Endgame

"So I see you came here for answers" the executive said to the group, sitting calmly at his desk, but this was anything but a calming situation, if you had four pissed off Atlas employees and a Sentinel operative pointing guns at you, that would be enough to send a chill down your spine but against the odds he kept calm, looking smartly at the group behind his desk, "okay as I was saying who the fuck are you?" Kahn resumed with the heavy barrel of his pytaek waving in front of the executive, he got up and looked at the group, "well I can explain why all this stuff has been happening and revolving around you all, you know manticore?... the zombie virus?... that was all me" he discussed pointing to himself "and you all will be very surprised that you all played a role in this zombie scheme", "what, what role?" Oz said confused, the executive walked over to the group who were stood in a line pointing their guns at him, ignoring Lennox he started at Kahn, "Mr. Kahn, an executive who got in the way of others, who was laid back in his work and was driving his branch to cuts and failure", he then moved to Oz, "the original zombie, originally a Sentinel operative and now an Atlas janitor, a walking test subject among the observers, you'll like knowing you were the reason behind all of this", he walked to Decker, "Jim Decker, a soldier wanna be who thought taking drugs was the way to win, oh don't make me laugh", Decker grit his teeth at that comment, the executive finally reached Lilith, "and Lilith Swann, a college dropout who tried to hide her shame behind a fake marriage and computer firewalls, but your hacking craze drove you closer to depression which no-one could fix", she and Decker knew instantly this was false, Lennox walked forward and shoved the executive against a wall, he pointed his Atlas 45. at his head, "okay now that your game is over lets play mine, it's called say where the cure is and don't get shot" Lennox grumbled at him, the executive just grinned, "you don't know what you mean by cure, it's not that simple let me put it" he replied, Kahn then looked around and noticed a picture of Jonathan Irons, the past CEO of Atlas, he took the picture off its nail and in the wall a small safe was revealed, "how do you open it?" Oz questioned noticing the lack of a keypad on the door, "I can probably guess" Lilith answered, she walked behind the desk and sat at the computer, looking around the screen she pulled up a virtual keypad, "ha, good luck getting in there" the executive snorted, Lilith simply broke a smile, she unzipped her jacket and reached in one of the sides, in her fingers was a flash drive and she plugged it into the computer, on it was a hacking programme and she started screening the computer for numbers, Decker looked at the executive, "she's one good hacker, how do I know? because she told me while I was in her bed", "it looks like you made a good lovely couple out of your test subjects" Lennox added, after a while a couple of numbers popped up on the monitor, Lilith looked at them for a second and acted, "okay so 5,9,2,1,4,8,3,0,6", after typing in the last number the safe beeped and the door unlocked, Lilith smirked at the executive, "how's that for a college drop-out?" she said, Decker walked up to the safe and opened to door, the others walked over as Decker rummaged through the continents, "so?" Oz asked, "nothing!" Decker replied holding just a folder, "please be smart and read that" the executive taunted, Decker undid the red string on the brown-coloured paper folder and only one paper was in the slot, but it contained all their answers which Decker read out loud.

"The unexpected creation of a virus capable of reanimating dead subjects from the manticore bomb have forced the creation of sub-level six to deal with this means of research and profit, therefore three failing Atlas employees and a captured Sentinel operative repurposed as a janitor will be subjected to the virus dubbed 'mortos' and another drug which will make their bodies produce antibodies which in theory will inanimate the virus, the three employees, Mr. Kahn (executive), Jim Decker (security) and Lilith Swann (IT) will have their daily intake of consumables laced with the combination, the operative will be injected and disguised as a janitor, all the effects will be monitored and recorded for research and profitable gain, possibly in a makeshift zombie outbreak", "so...where the cure?" Lilith asked him, "by the looks of it, yes" Decker replied, Lennox then let go of the executive but still had his gun trained at him, "okay I'm going to count to ten and by then I want you out of our sight" he snarled, the executive smartened himself up, "okay, like I need to stop you" he smirked, he turned and started to walk out of the room, "ten" Lennox immediately said, he cocked his Atlas 45. and shot the executive in the back, his body fell to the ground, lifeless, the others looked at him, but Lennox just shrugged it off, "okay we got what we need now let's..."
