And then it all goes downhill

Laura's POV

My heart was beating faster and faster within every second and with both of my hands placed on each side of the two-piece balcony door. The panic expression didn't left my face and was breathing heavily from that quick move to enter as rapid as possible to my room.

I stood in that position for about five minutes still not believing what I said, and just to clarify things and to not get the wrong meanings, those two words were said in a friendly way.

Even though, I don't  know if we are friends?!

"Marano, you messed up this time" I whispered to myself moving my head side to side, disappointed of the one and only, me.

The only person that can make such a fool of herself in front of her 'boyfriend' and say something so stupid like that, it's no one else than Laura Marie Marano.

When I decided to put my thoughts aside and come to realize how sleepy I was, lazily I walked to my bed running my finger through my hair and let a tired sigh escape my lips. When I was already tucked under the covers my eyes were slowly starting to close until all was black.

8:45

I woke up by my irritating alarm clock on my nightstand. Trying to turn it off, I ended up throwing it directly to my closet and broke into millions pieces because of the hard impact.

But hey, it stopped.

I removed the blankets off of me and sat on the edge of the bed, which made my feet hit the cold floor.

And then I realize, it's New Years Eve.

Well, it's another holiday that I get to spend alone, just like Christmas.

But it's better than spending with my annoying parents that in the middle of a movie can start to 'discuss' whose character it's better than the other one.

They are ridiculous.

I took all the clothes I needed from my wardrobe and head to the shower carrying them with me this time.

Yeah, there's no way I would commit the same mistake again. Worst day ever.

When I finished and was all dressed up, I opened the door with a towel still on my hair to dry it quicker.

Just when I was about to go downstairs to eat breakfast my phone buzzed which indicated me a new incoming message.

(text)Harper: hey Laur, I was wondering if you are going to the New Years Eve party tonight?

What party?

(text): what party?

I waited for her reply really confused. I don't even know what party is she talking about?

(text)Harper: that party in which everyone is invited down the block from where you live, seriously Laura are you from another planet?

Her last comment made me laugh a little.

(text): I don't know, maybe?. Let me think, call you later.
