Laura's POV

fear, terror, shame, horror

Those are the few emotions I am feeling while walking down the halls. Glares and disgusted looks came from the people by both of my sides.

I pressed the books tightly against my chest, trying to ignore the not so good comments that are hardly audible.

From the football team to the ones that don't have any social life at all, were gossiping in the school halls and every single one of them deep into the conversation.

I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, still walking uncomfortably through this endless hall. Honestly, it's hard to pretend what they are saying don't affect you when they do.

Is that moment when you realize all this time, you have been their joke.

My mind is still telling me the reason of all this high school rumor is because of me. My name's going from ear to ear with both, good and bad things.

Fingers pointing over at me is constantly, probably they don't know about their bad indiscreet skills.

What did I do wrong?

What have I possibly done that needs so much of attention? they should mind their own businesses instead of invading mine. From the corner of my eye, leaning against the lockers and surrounded by the school's cheerleaders stood Allan Mathews laughing at something one of those spoiled girls told him.

Three weeks ago, what he's doing right now would have been a lame joke but let's be honest, it was meant to happen sooner or later.

Ignoring his prescence just a few meters away, I did my common daily routine. The only thing that changed was the fact that I was being everyone's center of attention instead of doing my job as an invisible person, which I am so good at it.

"Can you just stop?" this was getting frustrating and a little uncomfortable. Since I came here all they are doing is judging me for no reason.

But it seems people are more interested on keep making jokes about me than attend class, that by the way they are already 5 minutes late.

"I don't know why are you doing here when the bell rang 5 minutes ago, now you better be going to class before I report all of you" the inspector warned to the students who were still on the halls, and to be honest, I have never been more relieved to see her.

It feels like I'm alone on this situation. The only person who I thought would always stick by my side no matter what it's gone, all though he promised to never leave me.But  I guess promises are meant to broke, specially his.

"Marano" someone said snapping me out of my thoughts. That's when I realized school is not over and is just the third period. The teacher stood in front of me with an irritating look on her face crossing her arms over her chest. "Please, can you repeat what I just said?"

"um..Marano?" she rolled her eyes walking away to the front.

"Miss Marano, I recommend you to pay more attention if you want to pass this class" How could I? this class is more boring than attending an opera function.
