Laura's POVMy life actually sucks. If I could just forget what happened today at school, it would be amazing. But I have all the things they said replaying in my head. From the words in the halls to the unexpected reunion with Allan and his so annoying girlfriend. I still don't understand what I have done to those people, to the ones who think they have all right to make fun of me; when they really don't.
I hate those people who say they will always be by your side, never leave you, help in every way they can, but it is just to make you feel better and when they had what they promised, they leave you alone.
And I really thought Allan wouldn't, never, be that type of people. Of course there are some who do stay, keep their promises.
A car honk interrupted my thoughts, realizing I have been standing there too much. I decided taking a walk could help me to keep my mind off, since this day was a complete disaster. The men didn't wait for me to cross the road completely so if I haven't move quickly, probably the car would had hit me.
"idiot" I mumbled when the car had already speed up. All the walk was basically like this, me walking around until some thought came up to my mind and I would zone out for at least eight minutes.
When I was again walking through the same path I have known since I was nine, my eyes spotted a BMW white car pulled into the driveway. It isn't my parents' because they have a black one and I am sure I haven't confuse the house with another one, so from who is that car?
I switched the door handle and pulled it open. Actually, I was a little scared. What if it is a murderer? or a thief?
When I walked into the kitchen there was a person, and to be more specific, a girl drinking a glass of water.
Well it wasn't a murderer and certainly it wasn't a thief either, but it was worst.
The girl turned around and when her eyes fell on me, she started to choke on her water. Honestly, it has to be the other way around, because she is the one who haven't show up in years and forget me in the shadows and I should be the one surprised. Not her with a fake surprised expression and walking towards me with her arms open. If she thinks I would jump in her arms and hug her like there is no tomorrow, she is dead wrong.
Eventually, she stayed like that for at least two minutes and when she realized I wasn't going to do anything but stay on my position from earlier, with my arms crossed over my chest, she opened her mouth.
"what? so you aren't going to welcome your big sister?" her voice sounded so innocent, like she didn't do anything bad at all. But she knows exactly what she did. A smirk was growing up on her face and extended her arms going for that hug again. But I didn't move a muscle.
"oh, do I have to?" when I finally had the courage to talk to her, the words just fell out of my mouth like we were having an actual conversation, "I don't find it necessary"
"well, yeah. I actually came back" is she talking serious right now?
"after how many years? five, six?" My day couldn't get any better, right? First school and then this.
"just be glad I came back. Now, where is my room?" okay Laura, breath in and out. So she came back after many years of being in -who knows where-, because I am pretty sure she graduated from college 1 year ago, then barge in the house like she owns it, and acts like nothing happened. What's wrong with this girl?
"sorry Vanessa, but your room is now a studio" when she heard those words, she turned her head towards me with an angry expression, "what?"
"you heard me right" I said plainfully.
