It was about 5:30 p.m. now.

Maybe I should text Connor. He wanted me to, didn't he?

Troye picked up his phone, opening to a new conversation. He pulled the piece of paper out of his pocket, typing the phone number.

He then typed a simple, "Hey." He sent it.

Maybe he wouldn't respond. He was at a friend's house, anyways...

~~~
Troye didn't get a response until about 10:56 p.m.
C- 'Sorry, hi.'
T- 'What took you so long to reply?'
Troye was sure he already knew the answer to his question, but he decided to ask anyways.
C- 'I was at my friend's house for a while. I had my phone off completely.'
T- 'Ahh, okay. I was just curious.'
He didn't know what else to say, and Connor wasn't typing back, so he just put his phone to the side.
And that's when he got a reply.
C- 'I might be moving a little too fast, just let me know if I am, but do you want to grab a coffee sometime or something? I know we see each other at school every day, but I mean over the weekend or something. And I know we've done this before, so hey, it's cool if you don't want to.'
Troye could have sworn his heart skipped a beat. I mean, it was only coffee, but it was only coffee with Connor. His crush.
T- 'Of course :)'
C- 'Awesome! :) Day and time?'
T- 'Saturday, 10 a.m.?'
Took a few minutes for a reply, but it was okay.
C- 'Sounds great!'
Troye let out a quiet, happy sigh, acknowledging what just happened.
He'd never felt so in-love with someone before, it was crazy. He was now complete mush for Connor, and he liked that feeling. He liked when his heart skipped a beat. He liked when he got breathless staring into his eyes, never mind looking at him. He liked when he talked to him, because it gave him a rush of adrenaline - he loved that feeling and savored it when he got it. He just loved everything about falling in love. He wanted to do it more often, as terrible as that sounded.
~~~

"Connor!" Kian yelled, as him and his two other friends walked towards him.

Connor and Troye looked over, a bit startled. Troye turned back to what he was doing, as he didn't want to get into their privacy - they obviously needed to talk about something to him. Not urgently, but still.

Completely out of earshot from Troye, JC asked, "So, how's it going?"

Confused, Connor asked, "How's it going in general, or are you talking about-"

"The plan, yes. I'm talking about the plan," JC said, cutting him off abruptly.

"Oh. Well in that case, just fine."

"Remember - crush him. I mean, not soon, but just crush him a couple months into your relationship," Kian reminded him, and he nodded, looking over to Troye. He gave a small sigh.

Why did I agree to do this? I don't want to hurt him. I just want to love him. I just want him to be happy. He seems to fragile to do this to, Connor thinks to himself.

He's snapped out of his thoughts quickly as Joey waved a hand in front of his face.

"Are you okay? You've been staring in his direction for about two minutes," he stated, clearly confused.

"Huh? Oh, sorry. It's nothing, I was just thinking, that's all," Connor says, hoping they'd buy it. He really didn't want them to find out he loves Troye - they wouldn't ever want him to hang again, and he'd lose his titles.

They nod.

"Okay, well, get to class. We're late, and wasn't that teacher going to give you a detention or something if you were late again?"

"Shit!" He said, the words coming out as more of a hiss as he darted down the hallway.

He burst through the door, startling everyone. Especially Troye.

"Mr. Franta, late again?" Ms. Jackson asked, a tone of annoyance lacing her voice. "Detention with me today after school. Be there or you get a whole week of detention."

Flopping down in his seat, he sighed. Whatever, he's had detention before anyways. It was nothing new to him.

~~~
At lunch, Troye sat alone, staring down blankly at his untouched lunch. A bit worried, Connor walked over to Troye's table, sitting down next to him.
"Hey," he says quietly, even though the rest of the cafeteria was loud as hell. "What's wrong?"
"I got detention..." he mutters, not moving at all or diverting his eyes to look to Connor.
"Oh," Connor says simply, as if this news was nothing new to him. "What'd you do?"
"I back-talked a teacher. But the thing is, I didn't even mean to, but obviously they don't get that," Troye says, getting a bit upset.
"It's okay. I have detention too. Detention buddies?" Connor asks, nudging him with his shoulder, smiling. He was attempting to make Troye smile.
Troye looked up to Connor, smiling. "Detention buddies." He had a sudden mood change, switching back to his original. "Although, I'm scared, because this goes on my permanent record. I also need to start thinking before speaking - any more detentions and I won't get into a good college or university, if I wanted to go to one."
"Yeah, well, there's other careers that don't include college or university, don't forget that part."
This was true. This was very true.
"I know," Troye said, before groaning a few minutes later. "My parents are going to kill me. I've never had a detention in my life, and my parents are going to get really upset."
"Hey, hey," Connor said. "Stop being so worried about it. You'll be fine."
Troye shrugged, before finally taking a bite of his lunch.
A/N: Ooooooooooooooh Troye got detention 😱 Bad Troye! Anyways, I hope you're liking this story so far!
