"(Y/N), wait for me!" I laughed as she skipped through the forest.
"Catch me, if you can!" She called and I rolled my eyes. Sometimes she was like a kid but that's one of the reasons I love her. I jogged to her and she smiled with her hands behind her back rocking forwards and backwards on her heels.
"What's that?" I asked trying to look behind her.
"Is it a dead animal?" I asked and she looked horrified.
"No! I wouldn't do that!" She brought her hands forwards and opened them, a tiny mouse was in her hands scratching its nose and wriggling around in affection.
"Hey little guy," I said softly and stroked its stomach. She smiled lovingly and watched me a I stroked it.
"What?" I asked laughing. She blushed and looked away smiling.
"You're so cute." She said and kissed my forehead. I laughed and we walked further into the forest after putting the mouse back into the tree.
"So, (Y/N) what do you think of the- (Y/N)...?" I looked around rapidly for her and shouted her name again.
"Hiiiiii!" She called jumping on my back wrapping her arms around my neck and nuzzling into my head.
"You scared the shit out of me! Don't run off again!" I scolded her, she looked upset and shocked at how stern I was and I saw her bottom lip shake.
"Babe, I didn't mean it I was just scared I'd lost you!" I said and pulled her into a sideways kiss since she was still on my back.
"I'm sorry, I-I got distracted. There's a river over there and I wanted to see it," she explained biting her lip. I placed a kiss on her lips again before carrying her to the river with her squealing and clinging tightly to me.
"Wanna go swimming?" I asked, a sly smile spreading over my face. Her eyes widened and she nodded excited.
"Yeah! But, we didn't bring our swimming stuff or towels," she said pouting. I laughed and kissed her temple, I swear I can't keep myself of her. I pulled my shirt of and threw it to the side turning round to see (Y/N) with a massive blush. I chuckled and stepped out of my jeans throwing them to the side as well.
"B-but I-I...." She trailed of and avoided my gaze. I curled her hair behind her ear.
"Babe it's not like I haven't seen you're cute body naked before!" She bit her lip.
"Yeah, but we where high than and it's different now." I laughed and she turned her head around.
"Did you forget what I said to you than? I've waited so long to see you're sexy body naked, it was probably the best thing I've ever seen!" She blushed and I placed a finger under her chin to look at me.
"I'm being serious babe. I love you." She nodded and un buttoned her shirt.
"See, it's not that bad!" I said laughing after jumping in the river. (Y/N) stood at the edge and trying to cover up her body.
"Are you cold?" I asked raising an eyebrow. She shook her head an I climbed out again holding her hand.
"Wanna jump in with me?" She smiled an nodded so I counted down from 3 and we jumped, landing in the middle of the river. When we resurfaced the strong current pushed (Y/N) towards me and I caught her kissing her forehead.
"See, wasn't that bad was it?" I laughed and she beamed nodding.
''you're right, as always Washington!'' Fish swam through our legs heading downstream, the reflection from the sun giving them almost multicolored gills. (Y/N) dipped her hand in the water her giggles turning into chuckles as they brushed against her fingertips. one fish bumped against her leg and was left behind by the rest of its school. She gasped and picked the fish up helping along until it caught up with its group.
''Butterfly effect...''I breathed and she looked up at me with a confused look on her face.
''What do you mean?''
''The Butterfly effect is an effect where the smallest butterfly flapping its wings could cause a devastating hurricane for thousands of years to come.'' Her eyes widened in realization.
''D-did I just go something bad..?'' i laughed and brought her forward so she had her arms around my neck and she listened eagerly hanging on to every word.
''we don't know, you could of created a tsunami for people in the future, or saved starving children so they will have more food.'' she went into a daydream, probably thinking of the possibility's.
''(Y/N), are you okay?'' I laughed and she nodded, diving under water swimming further downstream. i followed her and dived next to her, watching her as she swam elegantly which was a surprise since she's pretty clumsy on land. she turned her head and our eyes met, I got the same feeling I got when we first met in Dr. Hills office. she smiled and kissed my cheek, before she re surfaced wiping the water away from her eyes.
''C'mon, lets go dry off (Y/N).'' i said taking her hand in mine and we walked out of the river before grabbing our clothes and walking off to find a good place where the sun could warm us.
After getting dressed again, we came across a closed meadow-like place with a few wild flowers dotted around. the light shone through the trees in certain places showing the air particles floating around softly.
I lay on my back and (Y/N) rested her head on my chest listening to my slow paced heart beat facing me and tracing patterns on my skin whilst I twirled her hair around my fingers.
''(Y/N)?'' I mumbled after about half an hour of comfortable silence.she replied with a 'Mmmm?'.
''Will you sing me a song?'' she draped her arm over me and rested her head on it still gazing at me.
''What song...?'' she asked looking slightly shy and bit her thumb nail.
''I don't mind, your voice is beautiful no matter what song you sing.''
''When have you heard me sing?''
''I've heard you sing Gasoline before.'' she nodded and went into a day dream, continuing to draw patterns from my cheek to my collar bone.
''...Are you, are you, coming to the tree? They strung up a man, they said he murdered three,'' she sung softly, just loud enough for me to hear.
''Strange things did happen here, No stranger would it be If we met at midnight In the hanging tree.'' I hummed the tune giving her a bit more confidence as she sung louder attracting the attention of wildlife.
''You have an amazing voice.'' i mumbled running my fingers through her hair.
''T-Thanks...'' she said blushing and nuzzled into my chest in embarrassment. I chuckled and kissed her head.
''Josh?'' She mumbled, her voice muffled slightly.
I mumbled in response and she kissed my cheek.
"Love you." I smiled at this and opened an eye to see her bright (E/C) eyes and small smile ghosting her lips.
"I love you too."
