I decided too take the subway today. It wasn't anything i was ever expecting. You see everywhere on Movies and Television how gross and smelly them seem. Or how crowded they are. That's really not the cause you see. It was almost, peaceful in a way. Of course it wasn't exactly clean, but it's nothing it's ever compared too. They're weren't dozens of people and tones of noise. All I could here was a girl playing her guitar and singing for money. I could've spent all day there if I wanted too, but i had bigger plans. Plans to change my life.
The writer emailed me and told me too meet her at a local jazz cafe. I've never been too one before so this could be interesting. I walk into the busy street and head all the way down until I halt at a sign that says "The eatery and Things" with a big saxophone next too it. This must be it.
It takes me a few moments to look around and find her. After a while she motions me over while finishing a drink of tea. She wasn't anything I imagined. I guess I expected her to have really big red curly hair and huge Circe glasses, while wearing a flower robe thing. Kinda like that teacher from Harry Potter. Of course, I was mistaken. She was, she was pretty. Long brown straight hair that ended slightly above her butt, beautiful facial features and her makeup was flawless, and her style was so put together. She looked like a famous person, well I guess she sorta is.
"Hello you must be Bennet. I'm Aubrey" she shook my hand and smiled. "Oh yes it is so lovely too meet you. I've heard so many great things about your work" she kinda shook off my compliment and started talking again. "So, you're auditioning for the role of Rachel?" i nodded. "Well she is quite the complex character. Being kinda vain I almost based her around myself. Don't tell anyone I told you though" she let out a small laugh and started taking again."If anyone knows Rachel Rachel better, it's me. So that's why you really need too pay attention too how she needs to act" I try taking everything in from this intimidating women. I began to speak, "well I'm all ears and I have all day, just tell me about Rachel and I can go into character." she looked at me and laughed. I was confused, did I say something wrong? "Oh darling I'm afraid it doesn't work so easy here in the big top. YOU have to show ME how you think Rachel would act. You know the outline of the show, and any true actress would be able to just be the character." I just looked at her, like a deer in the headlights. Everything I possibly knew about getting into character, wasn't going to do me any good at this particular moment in time. "Well? what are you waiting for, go up too that saxophone player and be Rachel." Confused by what she said someone my legs drew me up to the saxophone guy, just before he was about start playing. I started to feel weird, like my body wanted to be Rachel, but my mind was stopping me. All the sudden I feel my mouth start to say words. crap. "Hey do you mind if I sing along to your band? I think It'll really Jazz up the place, if you know what I mean" oh my gosh I'm so dumb, Aubrey's gonna think I'm a fool. Before I could stop myself, I was singing. I sang a song I didn't even know, it was like my brain just knew. After the song was over so many people were In this little cafe know, and Aubrey was standing and cheering. "Jesus darling I didn't know you had it in you! you'll definitely do great in the Audition tomorrow. See you then" "Thank you! and goodbye" I yelled as she left. Wow, I feel on top of the world. So many people, New York people are cheering and clapping for me. I gaze around the room smiling Until i see airplane boy, slow clapping and flashing a perfect smile at me. I kind froze and stood there. Then, he approached me.
