I was always the friend that got left out when it came to guys; all of my friends had some sort of attention from boys when we went out in public. The guys would look at them or flirt with them; I, on the other hand, must have had some sort of repellent built into my system or something. Because I rarely got attention from the male gender. However, this would all change when I took a trip to London as a twenty five year old.

"Alexa, look at that guy's jersey! Look, look!" Kathryn whispered excitedly, pointing to a middle aged man just a few feet away from us.
I nodded, laughing. It was a blue and red PSG jersey; PSG had been her favorite ever since she'd started obsessing over Tobin Heath. "I see. It's cool looking!" I didn't care as much about jerseys; I was mesmerized by the fact that we were actually in London, at Heathrow airport. I'd heard so much about this airport, about the celebrities that had landed and taken off there; so naturally, I was looking around at all of the sights and sounds of the people and the new atmosphere. I could merely breathe in and sense that I was not in America; it was an incredible thing to feel that. "I can't believe we're actually here!"
She looked up at me happily, eyes glowing; we were both in the place where things could happen for either of us. English romances could happen, we could meet our favorite English stars or musicians, and we could watch a real football match, LIVE! The two of us were fans of Manchester United, her more than me. She'd packed her Man United jersey so that she could wear it to the match that was two days away; we'd bought tickets just a few days before we had boarded the plane. She was excited to watch the game, as well as her favorite player, Tom Cleverley. I appreciated the game, but mainly just enjoyed watching the attractive men on either team.
When we retrieved our luggage, we hailed a taxi and rode for nearly forty minutes to the Hotel Verta by Rhombus, the place where we were staying. I 'wow-ed' as we walked into the lobby, amazed by how nice the place was. "Wow. Our parents hooked us up!"
Kathryn nodded. "Oh yeah." She yawned. "I'm tired." Both of us were pretty jet-lagged, so I doubted there woud be any adventures tonight. It was already around six at night, so as soon as we checked in, we both took quick showers and went straight to bed.

When I woke the following morning, at around 10:30, Kathryn was already up, watching the local news buzz about the game the following day. "I can't believe we're gonna be able to sit in that stadium and watch this match!" she exclaimed, sighing in awe.
I rolled my eyes at her dramatic words. "Well believe it! William is coming to pick us up at nine!" William was a friend from my writing website; we'd started messaging and Skyping over the past year and had become really good friends.
Kathryn jumped onto my bed beside me. "So what are we gonna do today then?"
I rubbed my eyes, moaning. "I just got up, gosh!" Pushing away the covers, I stretched, trying to wake up. "Why don't we go sightsee? Like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace?" I'd seen all of the touristy sites, but only on TV.
She suddenly jumped off of the bed, spreading her arms out wide. "LEGO STORE!"
I sighed, rolling my eyes. "Fine, I'll go get ready."

After showering, I put together a cute going out ensemble composed of white, floral skinny jeans, a light blue baby doll tee, white knit flats, and a cameo ring with a black background and silver, thickly designed band. I straightened my shoulder length, brunette hair, the red highlights visible in the light. To complete my look, I swiped some loose powder over my face, and some eyeliner and mascara on my eyes.
"How do I look?" Kathryn asked as I stepped out of the bathroom. She looked flawless, as usual. Her dark skin looked even darker with the white Bermuda shorts and yellow striped top she was wearing. Her curly, black hair was down around her shoulders, her blue eyes lined in black liner. She didn't need foundation or any other makeup because her skin was flawless.
I rolled my eyes, smiling. "You look gorgeous, like always. I'm sure the Brit boys will be all over you.
And I was right. As soon as we stepped out of the hotel, the flirting commenced. First, she got attention from a young bellhop waiting outside; his accent just melted me. Though he wasn't her type in the least, she still returned the flirtations. That was just her personality type.
And then, when we were in the Lego store, there was a whole group of guys checking her out. What am I, a potato? I thought. I checked myself in a nearby mirror, making sure that I looked okay. I thought I looked pretty; apparently it wasn't enough for men in the US or in the UK.
"Wow, it's only been a half an hour and you can have any guy in London," I remarked as we walked out of the Lego shop.
Kathryn shrugged. "You could have them too, if you would flirt instead of just stand there."
I shook my head. "Nah, flirting doesn't come natural for me. I end up looking like an idiot if I try too hard."
"That's why you practice," she answered.
I looked around at all the boys; there were plenty of worthy specimens to practice on. However, I wasn't one to walk up to a random hot guy and start flirting; I was way too awkward. "Meh. I'd rather flirt with someone I was comfortable around and really liked."
Kathryn suddenly pointed in front of her. "Look! He has on a Man United jersey!"
I blushed whenever the guy turned around and smiled, eyes locking on Kathryn. She gave him a thumbs up, to which he responded by laughing and returning the gesture. I chuckled. "You and I are gonna leave a mark on London. They won't forget us."
She raised her hand for a high five. "Oh yeah!"
I turned to give her a high five, only to lose sight of where I was walking, therefore bumping into something...well, someone. The person grunted at the impact, and put their arms out to steady me, but I fell instead. I hit the ground with a THUD!
"Oh my word...I'm so sorry," a smooth, familiar voice said. I opened my eyes,
