Katherine's POV
I walked inside my house and yelled out "Mom I'm home!" "Kat please here" my mom said shit I was in trouble. As I walked towards the living room I tried to think off all the things I did today. "Yeah mom ?" I said trying to hide the fear in my voice. "Katherine aunt Shelby is really sick they need to remove a piece of muscle off her thigh so I need to go and help her out" "but mom she lives in Florida and we live in New York !" "Nah captain obvious, my friend Melissa Locke is gonna look after you while I go away." "What why!" I jumped up from the couch. "It's only for a month Katherine calm down no go pack I'm leaving today at 10pm so hurry up" "of course you'd leave me I don't have a family mom dad went off got himself drunk one night and killed himself you're never home your always working!" I yelled and ran up to my room and sobbed in my pillow. My pillow was my beat friend he held all my secrets, he held me at night while I cried and comforted me when no one else did. I sobbed she wasn't even sad to leave me she left me and didn't care. I sobbed and sobbed my heart couldn't take it anymore I was tired of her always neglecting me I was tired of the lies I love you Katherine no she didn't none of them did .I packed my bags and found Melissa's address in my moms purse I put my stuff in my trunk and drove off to Melissa's. School doesn't start till Monday thankfully. As I approached the most beautiful house I knocked on the door nervously. A beautiful woman stepped out with long brown hair and had huge blue eyes she sorta looked like James. "Hi I'm- I was cut off with her saying "Yes sweetie I know your Katherine I'm Melissa I'm gonna take care of you while your mamas away" I smiled at her sweetness. "Come in and we will take in side over a cup of tea." She smiled and trailed off into the kitchen her house was beautiful everything was from the brightest blues to the darkest greys. The house smelled like mango and pineapple and everything was so neat. "Here you go Kat" she said giving me a cup of tea. "So this is my house I have a son where ever he is " "James!" Oh crap I knew this was too good to be true God ! "Yeah mom" he walked in the kitchen and he looked just as shocked as I did all the color from his face drained. "Mom can I talk to you for just a second." James said and him and his mom walked out of the kitchen.
James POV
Mom that's the girl" I told my mom. "The girl you went on a date with?" She said smiling. "Yes the one who called me a lunatic " "why would she call you that she's such a sweet girl what did you do?" She responded there she goes defending Kat. "I kinda sorta forgot to take my meds this morning" I told my mom scared she was gonna yell. "James you knew you need to take your pills you act different when you don't!" She harshly whispered at me. "Poor Kat you probably scared her!" She said and walked out to Katherine. "Katherine dear I apologize so so much for my sons behavior today towards you, James takes special" I cut her off "MOM!" "James she has the right to know she's gonna be staying with us so!"
"I have the right to know what?" Katherine said "Non of your business !" I snapped at her. "As I was saying James takes special medication because when his dad died James lost it. That's why he takes it and if he doesn't he turns into something horrible in sorry for what happens today I can promise you everyday he will take his medication till he goes to surgery you are safe her Katherine." My mother said trying to make Katherine feel more secure I can't BELIVE my surgery is already coming up when that surgery takes place I'll go back to normal I won't need medicine.
Katherine POV
Oh my god I didn't know that wow I feel like a bi**h. "Oh I'm so sorry for your loss Ms.locke " I said "No honey it's alright call me Melissa." I smiled and she showed me around and took me to my guest room. The room was filled with the brightest blues and it filled my heart the bed was huge as well was the room the bathroom was nicely decorated. It was a cute room. "Thank you Melissa " I said hugging her. "Your welcome dear dinner should be ready in about an hour or so" she said she was so nice and loving I wish my mom was like that. As she left I walked towards James room, I knocked on his door "come in!" He yelled I quickly walked in. "James about today I'm sorry I've just been so stressed with my mom and stuff " "yeah I could tell by the color of your eyes " I sniffled. "Um so do you have something to tell me?" "Look Katherine I'm sorry for lasting out but I don't really feel sorry your the one who was so quick to judge me just like all you popular kids." He said it broke my heart. "You shouldn't judge someone till you get to know them and with That I walked out.
