Chapter 2
Ryder's P.O.V
As soon as I stepped into my school, yes mine because I'm the alpha and this is my territory, I could sense that something was...different. Not wrong, just different. And then I started to smell this wonderful scent. It smelled like vanilla, honey, and flowers. My wolf was instantly riled up. His name is Lucas. I could see Lucas literally jumping and howling inside my head.
"Lucas! What the hell is your deal man?" I asked him.
"That scent is our mate!" Shouted Lucas instantly giving me a killer headache.
I tensed up, shocked. Lucas sensed the break in my mind because of my headache and took control. Lucas followed the scent of our supposed mate to the main office. He opened the door where the secretary instantly stood out of respect and because a stuttering mess. In front of her, I could see a girl with her hair pulled into a ponytail that looked long. I wondered what it would look like fanned out all over my bed while I ho-.
Lucas growling snapped me out of my dirty thoughts. By now the girl had turned around and I could see her face. My mouth dropped open at the sight of her. She was so beautiful with crystal blue eyes, thick eyelashes, and beautiful pink lips. I would have thanked the Moon Goddess Selene, that she had given me such a beautiful mate but u didn't have time. Lucas lunged at our mate so fast that she didn't even have time to blink. She tried to run but it was no use. I tried to tell Lucas to stop it but he was too far gone. He wrapped an arm around her waist and inhaled. Her intoxicating scent filled my nose and growled 'mine'.She took that chance to push us off of her and back away. I didn't blame her either.
She looked back at us, furious. She said: "Sorry to disappoint you, but my names Astra, not mine."
Then she turned and grabbed her stuff from the secretary and walked out of the office. The secretary looked about as shocked as I felt. I felt Lucas fade into the background and let me have control again. I couldn't help but feel excited and proud. My mate was beautiful and stubborn. That would come in handy when she became Luna and I became Alpha. But it wouldn't come in handy during the mating process. That was okay too. Because I like a challenge. I went after her into the hallway and saw her talking to sister. As I got closer, I heard that they were talking about me. O had just reached them when I caught the last thing my sister said.
"I wouldn't take anything he says too seriously." She said with a bright smile.
So I said the only thing I could think of.
" Oh sis, you wound me. How could you say such a thing like thahurt,
"Because it true. Now me and Astra have to check our schedules to see if we have anything together." Tara said while rolling her eyes.
"Oh good." I said. "I'll join you!"
Tara heaved a sigh but didn't say anything else about it because she knew she would soon have to answer to me, so she might as well get used to it.
The whole time Astra never looked at me, and while that kind of hurt, I vowed that would change. We compared schedules and I realized that while Tara and Astra had all of their classes together, me and Astra only had one together. She looked received but I told myself that would change too. By the of the week, Astra would be seeing me all the time. She wouldn't be able to get enough of me.
