Phoenix POV
*One year after the Tenrou Island incident*
I stepped into the unnaturally quiet guild known as Fairy Tail. Everyone turned to me, and Macao stood up. "Hi! Do you have business here?" he asked with fake cheerfulness. Uh huh. They definitely need my help. I nodded.
"I'm here to join this guild." I stated bluntly. Macao looked pained. He thinks he's the only one? I tried not to scoff. Key word. Tried. "Geez. A couple deaths and you guys are like this?" Mistake. The entire guild got angry.
"You don't know how it feels to lose someone precious to you!" Macao yelled, red faced with anger. I grimaced in pain under the hood of my cloak.
"Yes I do. I lost many of my friends a while ago," I winced inwardly since it wasn't exactly true, "So I know what you're going through," I hissed. "But do you really think that whoever died here would want to see you like this?" Macao shifted uncertainly.
"No, but it doesn't mean that you can talk about their deaths like that!" I winced at the word death. Ugh, this is going to get complicated.
"Do I get to join or not?" I asked. Macao nodded glumly.
"Yeah. One moment, I'll go get the stamp." When he left, everyone turned to me and stared curiously. They're probably wondering who I am and why I have a good over my face. Macao came back, stamp in hand. "So, why do you want to be in this guild?" he asked suspiciously.
"I heard you guys were in trouble, so I came back." And with that, I flicked my hood down. Jaws dropped and gasps were heard. "I'm back! It's been a while guys!" I exclaimed happily, a huge grin on my face.
"N...Natsu?! You came home! Err...I mean, what are you doing here? And what happened to your hair?" Macao looked torn between looking happy and suspicious. He was also staring at my hair. I frowned and looked at my hair. Sure, it had gotten longer and all but...
"WHAT THE HECK?! WHY IS MY HAIR RED?!" A lot of people laughed at the shocked look on my face. Then something Macao had said registered in my mind. My face fell. "It's been a while since I've been called by that name. I don't go by Natsu anymore." I lifted my head so they could see my eyes full of pain. "I go by Hell Phoenix now, Phoenix for short." Silence.
"EHHH!!" And there goes the silence.
"Why?" Someone yelled from the back of the guild. Oh wait, that was Reedus. I shrugged.
"The name 'Natsu' held too many memories. As for how I got the name, someone saw my new flames and said that it looked like a phoenix from the way I used them. The 'Hell' bit was added later on after I took down the dark guild Twilight Ogre." Jet and Droy gasped. I looked at them, annoyed. "Will everyone please stop gasping? It's a bit annoying." They nodded.
"Na...Phoenix! That was you?! There was a request for us to defeat them and turn them in to the Magic Council eight months ago. We took the job, but by the time we got there, you already beat them! We saw someone standing on top of the destroyed guild hall, but we didn't know it was you!" They both shouted. I rolled my eyes.
"Of course it was me. You idiots wouldn't have been able to take them down by yourselves." A tick mark showed up on both of their foreheads.
"What did you call us?!" Droy threw a mug at me. I dodged, and it hit Macao. He turned around, a dark aura surrounding him. He wordlessly picked up a chair and threw it at him. Droy also dodged, and it hit Alzack. I did the classic Fairy Tail thing. I yelled...
"Brawl!" An all-out guild-wide brawl erupted. Heh heh, I've still got it. And by that, I mean I can still start a massive brawl. Yup. This is how Fairy Tail's supposed to be.
*Timeskip (a couple hours)*
Pressure on my right forearm made me look down. Macao lifted the stamp off my arm. I noticed the familiar red Fairy Tail guild mark. I looked from it to Macao, who smiled. "I don't believe that you killed those people, so I'm giving you another chance." I smiled. Fairy Tail will rise from the ashes (pun fully intended) of sorrow.
*Timeskip (6 years later)*
3rd Person POV
Alzack burst through the guild doors. "Hey! Guess what! Tenrou Island reappeared!" he yelled. Macao stood up.
"Alright! We'll send some mages in to take a look. Bisca, Alzack, Jet, and Droy, you guys will go. Oh, and by the way, we'll keep an eye on Asuka for you." The group nodded and headed out.
*Timeskip*
A blond haired girl groaned as she woke up to loud voices. "...should be around here somewhere."
"Yeah, but where? Phoenix thinks that they're all still alive."
"I hope they're alive. Being gone for seven years leaves a mark. After all, they were at least half of the guild."
"I know what you mean. Hopefully we can... hey! Look! It's Lucy!"
"Lucy! Are you okay?" Lucy looked up to see Alzack and Bisca standing over her.
"A...Alzack! B...Bisca! Why are you here? And why do you look older?" They smiled and looked relieved.
"We'll tell you when we find everyone else." Lucy immediately panicked.
"What happened? Is everyone alright? What about Acnologia?" Bisca helped her up.
"Calm down. I'm sure they're all okay." After searching for a few minutes, the entire Tenrou group was reassembled.
"Now then, we'll tell you all about the past seven years. Mavis, would you like to come with us?" Droy asked politely. Mavis nodded happily.
"Yes please!" They all heard a rustle in the bushes. Everyone turned to see Hades step out.
"Well, well, well. Looks like some pests are trying to get off the island. I'll have to say no t..." Jet sped forward and punched his lights out. The Tenrou group looked shocked.
"What happened the last seven years for my children to get so strong?" Markarov said in amazement. Jet shrugged and grimaced. So did the other three.
"Phoenix's hellish training. That's what," he said, rubbing his shoulder. "As we said earlier, we'll tell you on the way back to Magnolia. Now then, off to the boat!" All the dragon slayers groaned. This would be a long trip home.
