The moment I wake up I instantly know that my life is in danger. Liam is behind me, with his arm wrapped around my top half of my body, I move slightly, trying not to wake Liam up. My efforts fruitless because as soon as I move Liam wakes up and pulls me back into the bed. "Liam let me go." I say. "Just a few more minutes." he groans. "Liam I have to find Taylor." Liam lets me go and I put on one of his sweaters, it's a good thing I look good in black. I head down to the Pit, I find Taylor setting up punching bags. She drops the bag and runs to me. She gives me a huge hug "I thought you were dead." she said. "You doubted me?" I jokingly said. "no, but I didn't doubt Becca either, she had planned to go to that club and kill you both." she said. "Liam and I started a huge bar fight to get out of there, I'm pretty sure I knocked her right in her nose." Taylor shows a nervous smile, "is she here? I know she'll do something to mess up my day." I ask her. "no, haven't seen her today." Taylor says. Hours pass, Becca never shows. I go into the room with Taylor again, she inserts the needle into my neck and I barely feel myself pass out. I wake up and find myself outside, sitting in a blank field, the clouds above me are gray. Then a bolt of lightning hits the ground, sending a surge of electricity through the ground. "Kill it." I snap my head to see a crowd of people led by my own mother. "Kill it." She says it again, pointing a finger at me. The crowd roared, then one by one they ran at me, full speed. The first person to attack me was Liam's father, he threw a punch at me, then my own father, then my mother. everyone attacked me throwing their fists at me. "It's not real." I scream. I take my mother by her face, and she disintegrates. They all turn to dust. I fall to the ground and look up, to find myself in a black room. "Hello?" I yell. "Anyone here?" I try moving around, but I'm enclosed in a black box. "Weakling." I look up and see Liam, Harry, Zayn, Louis, Niall, Taylor, and Becca, standing around the outside the outline of the box. "it's time." Liam says, they all raise a bucket. In unison they all pour the liquid inside. It burns my hands, my feet, everything. Acid, they poured acid on me. I find a gun in my belt loop and shoot up, over sixteen times. Shooting every single one of them. I climb up and find myself surrounded by Erudite. "Kill him." I turn and see Jeanine. Before I could say anything, a man shoots me, the bullet passes through my brain, I feel nothing. They keep shooting me. I push them all back out. "this isn't real Jeanine, I know this isn't real." "you'll die if you talk like that Mr. Parthenon." she says as she shoots my brain. I shoot out of the chair, breathing as much as I can. "I'm honored" I snap my head towards Taylor. "Why?" I ask. "Well I was just ordered to kill you." Then she multiplies. "You're nothing, you are worthless." she says. Over and over, to the point where I am sitting on the ground with my hands covering my ears. Being a coward. All of the Taylors point the gun, and shoot me.

I grip the chair and shoot out of it. "Hey hey, calm down." Taylor says. I look at her with panic. "It wasn't real, but it damn felt like it, even for me. Now with your final evaluation, you can't say 'it's not real' or do anything that is suspicious. Now head out and send in my boyfriend." "And just who is your boyfriend?" I ask her. "Styles!" she says. "I thought he was gay?" I ask her. "He's bisexual, now send his ass in before I kick yours." She points a finger, I head out and tell Harry to head in. I went back to the barracks to find someone there, standing over the bed where Liam and I lied this morning, I don't see their face before they run away. I run to the bed and find a note on it. "I know what you are, meet me outside the tattoo parlor in five." I rip up the paper and make my way over the the tattoo parlor. I see a familiar face, Hunter standing, waiting for me. I walk faster towards him. Once I get to him he brings me behind the building and punches me in the gut. "I know CJ. I know you're divergent." he says, hitting me again. "you know what Hunter? why don't you go tell Jeanine? I mean if I'm so divergent why don't you tell anyone?" I say to him, colliding my knuckles with his right cheek. He huffs angrily, throws another punch but I back away before he can hit me. "oh that's right? because you're factionless, and no one will believe your sorry ass." Hunter growls and whips out a knife, he jabs towards my stomach, neck and chest. I grab his fist and twist it, and shove him into the wall. He drops the knife on the ground and holds his fist. I pick up the knife and hold it in my hand. "Have a nice, factionless life Hunter." I say walking away. Instead of sitting there, he gets up and runs towards me. I kick him back and without thought, throw the knife in his direction. I didn't miss.

The knife was lodged into Hunter's heart. I take one more look at him, then walk away. when I get back to the barracks more people, including Liam Harry and Zayn, are there. I see Liam and give him a big hug. "hey, how was your sim?" he asks. "same old stuff. Yours?" I ask putting my hand on his chest. "just as you said." he says kissing my lips. "can you two get a room?" Zayn says. "yeah, we have one right here." I smile at him. He mocks my face. "Hey CJ, Taylor wants you, she said its urgent." I turn to see Mara looking right at me. "Thanks Mara." "Hey, everything alright?" Liam asks. "I hope so" I say. Liam insists that he walks with me, so I let him. when we both get to taylor she is more relived than angry. "I have been informed that Becca has died. She was brutally murdered in Club Daunting." Taylor told us. "Usually I'd feel sympathetic, but she was there to kill us and you know that." Liam said. "I know, but you guys were there, people are gonna be suspicious." Taylor replied. Stands up, exposing the bottom of her bow and arrow tattoo. "This training will be over soon, you better keep your head down and do not, repeat, do not bring attention to yourself. Ms. Matthews is on high alert right now. She's saying a radical divergents who wanted to get at a harmless woman." "Harmless? She was going to have us killed!" I yell. "CJ I know, just get through these last few days and you guys will be home free." Taylor looks at us, "now go, do something crazy, get more tattoos, get drunk, have sex
do something that will get these things off your mind." She pushes us out the door, slamming it behind us. I look at Liam with a blank expression. "I know what we can do, c'mon lets go before it gets suspicious." Liam takes my hand and pulls it along with him. "Li-I...what if she actually did kill us? Would they have found out if we were-" he covers my mouth. "don't you say it. Babe, we need to just go somewhere, get drunk, you know. Have fun without being worried about about our well being. We'll be fi-" "I killed Hunter." I say aloud. Liam doesn't let go of me. "why?" he asks. "He knew. But he didn't tell anyone. No one would've believed him. Liam three people are dead because of me and I don't know what to do." I confess. "CJ. All three of them tried to kill you. You shouldn't feel bad for their deaths. They joined Dauntless to be courageous, yet they all turned out to be cowards." Liam rubs my shoulders and trails his fingers down my arms. I look up and reach my hand behind his neck and I pull him in for a kiss. His hands press against my face, we let go and laugh at each other. "Li..." I say looking into his chocolate eyes. "What's up CJ?" He closes his eyes and presses his forehead against mine. "I love you." My voice cracks as the words spill out. "I know, I love you too."

Once we leave the long hallway and go out into town, Liam reaches out his hand to pull me into a dark club. Men and women dancing, women and women, boys and boys all dancing and grinding on each other. The song was dark and sexy, making me forget everything that has happened in the past, with Joey, Hunter, Becca, all of it was gone gone gone. Now it was just me, Liam, and the music. "Come with me, I want to finish what we started last night." Liam says, rubbing a circle on my hand with his thumb. I nod and follow him into the bathroom. He immediately picks me up and kisses me on the neck. I grab the back of his head and move my hands all around his body. He makes his way into the stall with me in his arms. Liam holds me as our tongues move around in each others mouths. Liam sets me down on the toilet seat and I unbuckle his belt. "Wait." Liam says. "What's up?" I ask him. "You sure you want to do this? If you're not ready for this kind of thing I can wait. I'll wait for you." Liam grips my shoulder, and smiles at me. "I am more than ready Li. Now let me do my thing please." I wink at him. He smiles more and nods. I unbutton his dark pants and yank them down to the floor. He is big and nothing like I have ever seen. I look at it, grip it and kiss the tip of it. Liam closes his eyes and tilts his head up. I take it in inch by inch, getting closer to the back of my throat each time. I take my mouth off of it and kiss the side of it, kissing it all around. A knock at the door comes. "Liam Payne, CJ Parthenon open the door." Liam frantically pulls his pants up and I stand up. We open the door and see Zayn and Harry. "Taylor needs you both as soon as possible. Sorry to interrupt your time, you'll have plenty of that later. But right now we need to go." Zayn says. "Every time." I say angrily. Liam and I rush to Taylor and she is beaming with joy it seems. "What is so important that you have to interrupt our time together?" I ask her "Great News! If both of you pass the final assessment, you'll be appointed to work with me on the new initiates! The Dauntless leaders saw your progress with the physical training and liked what they saw, would you be up for the task?" Taylor flips her hair out of her face. "Of course we would." Liam says immediately. I look at Liam and Taylor in shock mainly, but also extreme happiness. Becca died, and now I get to take her spot as Dauntless Leadership.
