When DEAD calls

Chapter 1

Life turned out to be in favour for Jeff Smith as he headed towards the quarters .Today the CIA will honour him a position that will change his life forever. Jeff didn't expect the liking of his profession until he realized his potential. The world knew him since yesterday as the one who solved the recast of the 'Area 51'.His thoughts came to a halt as he heard a few familiar voices, 'watch your step Anna...you'll get used to the stares. Don't feel weird ...not when we're famous'.

Anna turned to Joseph giving a hard look, 'Now who's speaking about feeling weird. Look at you! You look frigid'.

Amanda kept to herself chortling ,which was something Jeff didn't see before. He knew her side of being formal , submissive and shy. But not today. Something about their attitude impressed Jeff the most.

Anna tried to defend her looks but her blushed cheeks didn't. Joseph and Amanda on the other hand tried hard to stay to themselves. They wanted to be themselves while the other agents expected a behavioral change as they brightened to limelight yesterday on a full media coverage. They all met with a smile and shared the same steps as the feet stomped the floor thud.

'I have a bad feeling that this will end soon', thought Jeff as he seen the hint of jealousy as people greeted them with a new tone of respect.

'I cant believe this is actually happening. This is beyond what we dreamt sir. I may now have to believe in god', said Amanda expecting a response from Jeff.

'I only believe from what I see, not from assumed theories of myth with illogical proofs'.

The three didn't expect a reaction so direct. Now they knew something personal on Jeff who remained reserved till date. He kept his persona to himself but he had clearly shown his aptitude towards investigation. They only knew he loved fish and chips. Now that the statement changed to its plural they expected more to come from him.

The team followed their way to Tim's office. Tim Cook is the director of the CIA. Jeff and his team was asked to meet Tim yesterday. Something about this meeting excited the team with immense anticipation.

'Jeff', blurted Tim with a chuckled grin, 'You're the one to watch out for!'.

His attitude is the main reason to top in everyone's hit list.

'I guess 'we' are', said Jeff in a sharp tone.

Tim raised his brow indicating a wide pause, 'Yes.. Very well then...ummh...now as far as your posts are concerned you'll all be getting newer ones. But...'

'What now?',whispered Amanda with a concerned gaze.

'You'll now be shifted to Russia for a special op. But before you get to know what you're after I must surely ask whether you have any of the Anti-Russian intentions'

The team shared an expression showing their disapproval against his statement.

'Cool then. Follow me'.
