They all strolled past the people and other agents, walking hastily like they are in some sort of marathon race, just to catch up with the speed of the leader. Tim was sweating from tension which obviously stated that there was something strange going on. 'Philandering Tim' turned out to be 'Mysterious Tim' , which was more stranger. The other squads just tried to keep up their pace with the director, not knowing where they are being led to. Atlast , the director halted to give the members the time to realize that they are at the back of the building.
'Are we not tresspassing ?' Amanda asked as she looked around the place being isolated.
'Actually, this place is not allowed for any visitors. But we are on a case. So that means we're not tresspassing' , there was a long pause and then he continued, 'By the way , we are not visitors ,we are cops'.
'So what are we supposed to do here?', Joseph asked.
'Help me find the trapdoor to the basement', Tim answered instantly as he saw their faces changing. He saw Jeff opening his mouth to ask something but got intervened by Tim, 'No more questions. Just do what I say'.
All the agents scattered around, their eyes surfing over the wall and the sandy floor for any door.
'Here it is', they heard Anna calling out from the corner of building. Everyone ran to her and stood besides her, staring at the flimsy wooden locked door nailed firmly to a steel frame on the floor.
'Ahh yes , that's it. Well done Agent Carter', Tim said as he moved towards the door, pulled out the keys that Liesa gave him and unlocked the door. The door swung open to reveal the staircase and darkness inside. Tim took a cautious step forward into the hole and slowly went downstairs and landed on the basement floor. 'Come on in, Agents', he shouted from inside.
The other squads jumped in and found themselves in a gloomy, pungent-smelled basement, walled and ceiled with old concrete cement, the paints tearing off the walls. The tunnel looked very much dilapidated that may anytime crumble down to nothing.
'Oooooo this looks way more than creepy', Joseph sounded alarming and dreadful.
'Should we really continue going in?', asked Amanda sounding tensed and frightened.
'Yep. We shouldn't pull back, Agent Cresta. Lets go in', Tim said.
The team followed Tim deep into pathways that they didn't find in their work years. They had to walk across deep channels cornering the usual routes. They finally entered a room which was accessed after a scrutiny from a touch pad.
'Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you the main cause for our mystified case', Tim announced to the team. The team shared mixed expression and walked into the room.
The room seemed to reflect the whole idea of what it was meant for. Glass panes surrounded as a distinct mahogany board indicated a slight change in the faces of the team as they read out what was written on the board with mute pronunciations.
'CISS stands for Civil Intelligence for Secret Service. The photos on the board that you're seeing seems to bring in the dreams you've all experienced before. But all I want to add is that since your career history is impressive and involved in this, I am recruiting you guys into this. You'll be receiving new passports, new colleagues and new homes'.
'What are the new passports for? How will the foreign policies accept our fake identities for espionage?', asked Anna with a revered concern
'That's why we need to keep the CISS going. CISS is a pact signed by the UN membered countries since its inception.....its the backbone for the organization. This differs from security council as it deals with forensics related to philosophical and mythological approach'.
Silence.
'You mean things related to supernatural stuff', added Jeff.
'Yes'.
'So we deal with stuff like finding proofs in evil and extremists', enquired Joseph, which brought in complicated look in his face.
A nod from Tim,'According to the forensic report by the human rights commission, Hitler was killed by a person who happen to be a ghost'.
'How do you happen to know it was a supernatural dude when it could be the opposite', Joseph said showing his dissent.
'Well Jose have you ever read his works'.
'Yes, Mein Kampf ,his biography'.
'Well ,did you read the edited version? The actual copy said that he was a satan who pretended to hate Jews',stated Tim with obviousness in his tone.
'You mean he approached the illuminati to become famous. No matter why he has millions of fans till date', Joseph ratified.
'Well I am a believer of Christ. I am not buying that', added Anna.
'Vague 'thoughts' doesn't prove anything. I may be an atheist but this doesn't make any sense. I need proofs boss', blurted Jeff.
'Well this will be disturbing', said Tim.
