When DEAD calls

Chapter 2

The team tailed their director to the ground floor of the CIA building

'Wait here', Tim said and started walking towards the receptionists counter , leaving us behind with surging inquisitiveness.

Jeff saw him walking there and leaning on the counter desk with his chin resting on his palm , positioning himself to start informally pull over the CIA building's receptionist Liesa Fuller, edging on her being single.

'Is that seriously necessary at a time like this ?', Jeff sighed and uttered suddenly, awakening his fellow members to their senses and dragging their attention towards him.

'What are you talking 'bout, buddy ?', asked Joseph  shrinking  his eyebrows.

'Director of CIA flirting with the receptionist ?', Jeff said with bothered tone.

'They have been having this relationship the day Liesa walked into this building', said Anna, 'Poor Liesa got caught with the despicable Tim'

'Isn't he already married to Sarah Cook, the cardiologist doctor?', asked Amanda stating the idiosyncrasy fact

'Maybe the cardiologist broke his heart with her vascular closure device', Joseph said sarcasticly which wasn't sarcastic as the team glared daggers at him. He suppressed his childish smile and cleared his throat, 'Ahh, sorry... Intended to change the serious atmosphere. Guess it's not working'.

'He is not dumped, you moron. He is widowed and left with a son just last year. Not sure how Sarah died, maybe an accident or by natural force', Anna said sternly like a bold and real agent.

'Who cares for his personal life !!! What really bothers me right now is he is flirting with someone while there is an important case at menace !!!', Jeff said, voicing his concern at each word and again dragging their grave attention,'We are running out of time'.

'Hey wait, do you know anything 'bout this case 'cause your just behaving eccentric the time we are on this case?', Anna asked, suspiciously tilting her head sideways

'Eccentric? Me? No no, not at all. I'm... I'm just losing my.... patience', Jeff said , his voice stammering timorously which was really odd.

'Come on guys, whatever is the case we are going through right now, would be a hell lot of work to do. But right now, just calm down and chill your expression before Tim comes and doubts 'bout us being upto some wackadoo-nut job!', Joseph said sloppily, patting his partner's tensed shoulder and giving a naive wink to Amanda, who gave a lopsided smile in return.

Meanwhile, the director ended his chat with Liesa and traced his way back towards the team with a bunch of keys in his hand.

'Okay guys, Sorry for being late. It took time for me to get these things. I needed to dally up with her to attain these', said Tim blatantly.

'So, what are those for ?' asked Jeff crabbily

'You'll get to know. No time for explanation', Tim answered blankly and then his looks on his face changing to getting perplexed. 'Is everything alright , because you seem a bit furious on something?' he asked Jeff apprehensively and still perplexed.

'Everything is fine , sir. Lets just get going before it's too late', Anna interrupted before Jeff could speak up, with her charming voice to cover up the doubts in Tim's head.

'Yeah right , lets go', Tim said and he started walking past them.

Anna made a relief sigh and mouthed angrily to Jeff, 'You better wipe that look off your face before you get chucked out of this case'. Jeff just stared at her. 'What ? Don't look at me like that. I'm just warning you', her anger raised to double which made Jeff chuckle.

'Anger doesn't suit you', Jeff said with a smirk.

'Anger is my style, you jerk', Anna said annoyingly.

'It still doesn't suit you', he said again slyly.

She groaned and just marched past them to follow Tim. Jeff left a playful smile and started following too.

'Nice speech you gave back then. I'm impressed', said Amanda vampily and walked past him to join the group.

'That is what i'm anticipating', Joseph said, not too loud, sheepishly and turned around to join the team.
