{Introduction}
Snatching the neon yellow paper from the door I read over it quickly as I roughly ran a comb through my rugged hair. “Hello Ms. Carter, we are sorry to inform you that you have 30 days until you will be evicted blah blah blah.” I crumpled up the paper tossing it into the waste basket and scooped up Jaiden from her crib and headed out the door. Same old shit, just another fucking day. All I had to do was convince the land lord that I’d have my money in a few months and he’d let me off…but something told me that this time was different. I shrugged it off, couldn’t be, maybe I was just paranoid, I’d always been paranoid ever since my baby daddy got shot two days after my daughter was born, trippy man, I swore that shit was a set up until it really hit me, the nigga was gone, but shit I ain’t trippin’ he wasn’t payin’ my bills anyways and neither did he plan on taking care of our daughter either.
Checking the time I rushed out just in time to drop Jaiden off and make it to my job all in the time frame of one hour, I had a full time job at Foot Locker, smacking my gum I seemed to always have an attitude when I checked in for work. I mean who wouldn’t, I had to smell niggas feet all day and if they were feeling pervish they’d make me take their shoes off for them just to get a peek at my cleavage every once in a while. Fucking pigs, I hated them, I hated my boss, the only thing I actually felt fond about was my actual job. I loved shoes, and clothes, growing up I always wanted to be a fashion designer, but looking at where I was headed now, it seemed like I was never gonna reach that dream, I don’t even know why I even bothered entertaining it. It was pathetic if you asked me, but I kept it alive, just to be an example for my baby girl. “Ms. Carter, Ms. Carter, Ms. Carter!” my thoughts were interrupted by my boss calling my name in that dreading nasally voice of his. “Quit daydreaming and get to work, I don’t pay you for nothing.”
I huffed and muttered under my breath, “yes sir…”
This was just the beginning of the story of Ms. Carter.
