When people reach the top they fail to look below,
- well unless you've reached the top of a burning building and have no choice.
Rewinding timeeeeee
"You've gotta take another way out", I said looking around perturbed. Things were not going the way they should and we were definitely in no position to keep running around a burning building.
Crack
"Wait did you hear tha-", Krooshhhh. The floor had begun to shake and tilt as if caving in to itself like the tide in an ocean. Not good . "THE ROOF !! " , said Malcolm over the noise of something tremendously big breaking and began running carrying me along like a rucksack. If the floor gave in and there was no way down we had to go up but what in the world was happening ???
We were on our way to the stair case leading upstairs and just about made it before the stairs gave way. Phew we just made it...
We had reached the roof. "Wow ", we said in unison. Even as the world was literally crumbling around us we could appreciate the view from our school's roof. "What do we do know ? " , I asked. Our school was burning AND crumbling apart for God only knows what reason - and we were trapped on the roof until we could find a plan or we would be buried with the school the way things were going.
We looked over the edge of the roof - which was a terrible thing to do as smoke billowed into our faces from the burning building and we fell back. Well you know what they say when you hit rock bottom the only way is up, just that this is the total opposite .
" ...drea Andrea, Andrea !!!", Malcolm was yelling at me which broke my train of thought as I came back to Earth . "Y-Yeah, what happened ? " , I asked. "Can't you feel it ?? The building is about to collapse we have to jump now ", he said. " Wait, what ? How ? Where ? ", I said . "The canopy for the swimming pool right off this side of the roof. It's our only chance", he said. He put me down and turned around to face me. I didn't know I was trembling until he suddenly hugged me. In all that panic and running in the smoke filled corridors and getting hurt and lost and stuck on a roof with a building that was about to collapse his embrace enveloped me into another world. I was safe here , I was safe in Malcolm's arms. "Do you trust me Andrea ?", his gentle voice washed over me taking away all the fear. " Yes ", I said unexpectedly. "Then hold onto me and don't let go", he said. I climbed onto his back again. He ran, jumped and at that moment we began fall/flying into the canopy directly below us.
Although I knew he said that so that he could land together with me on the canopy, I felt like I had found someone who I felt comfortable with maybe even could grow to li- and then I felt like something tore and water struck my face. We had broken the canopy and we were headed face first into the pool. In near moments water filled into my lungs and all went blank.
Haha i dont know whats up with my endings but they're alright so far, hope you enjoyed them and look forward to more chapters XD
