Chapter 13: A Gift in the middle of trouble brewing

When I woke up in the morning there was an indent in my blanket. Looks like he left already I mused as I rose out of bed to get dressed.I noticed that there was a new outfit for me on my bed. Strange.. I spotted a note on it and grabbed it. It was fairly short and only had eight words. "H..he...hey.. Lee...lie...lira. Lira. " I continued sounding out each word. Daughters of farmers are not taught to read.

After a good fifteen minutes of sounding out the words like a dim-witted child I finally figured out the meaning. Clearing my throat I repeated what it said. "Hey Lira, saw this and thought of you" I spoke tilting my head when I finished. I held on to the outfit, feeling the clothing texture. It's much more finer than I'm used to I mused inside my head.

Unlike my previous uniform and that I had, which was a gorgeous tan color, this one was a much darker brown, a bit like tree bark in my opinion. The pantaloon reached all the way to the bottom of my feet. There was no sleeves on the lighter brown shirt that had intricate light brown designs on it , and it felt a bit too masculine; something a sailor might wear at sea. The shoes were a light brown that had a few inches on the wedges.

I stood there for about five seconds wondering how did this remind him of me. Do I seriously remind him of a man? After that tender moment we semi-spent together last night? Grumbling in frustration I put on the damn outfit.

Walking out into the hallway I noticed that none of the Prince's other attendants had to change their outfits. So it's just me who's getting forced? I thought irritably eyeing the others outfit. ReiRei noticed me, and walked over quite gracefully.

"Li-san, are you okay? You seem a bit irritated." She trailed off.

"I-i-i'm-m f-f-fin-ne-e. J-just-t wond-der-rin-ng wh-hy H-hi-is-s Maje-sty alw-w-way-ys pi-ick-ks on-n me-e." I grumbled.

ReiRei suddenly let out an adorable laugh shaking her head at me. "Do you really not know?'' she asked.

I looked at her quizzically. "K-kno-ow wh-ha-at?" I asked. Junjun suddenly shot a glare at her sister.

"Rei! If she doesn't know, don't tell her!"

"Oh why not Jun?"

"You know why!"

As the two sisters bickered back and forth the third stared intently at a magical object that was in her hand. "Guys.." started Jinjin. The other two looked up at her. Jinjin grimaced.

"Something happened back in the Kou Empire.."

I know it's been a few months since I updated and I'm so sorry about that. ):

Also I put a picture of pantaloons, and a song that I listened to while writing this. :) Personally I am a huge fan of pantaloons(they're so comfortable!). The song I chose is Now You Know by Icon For Hire. They're a great band; go check them out! :)

Hopefully though, you guys like this new chapter. What do you guys think happened in Kou?
