You Want Me To What?

The following day was awful. I woke up after a restless sleep caused by more nightmares of being chased by wolves through the forest.

How symbolic?

I skipped breakfast all together to avoid my parents, and to make my morning worse, Bae told me that he wasn't going to be at school today so I had to drive myself. The day was fairly boring, but at least it was quiet. Sarah didn't have much to say to me after yesterday, but I did notice that she had a black eye under the pounds of makeup she caked onto her face everyday.

By the time fifth period History rolled around I found out that Kane had this class with me, granted the only reason I noticed was because he was absent today and I was actually listening to the teacher take roll call. It was mid March and I hadn't noticed him all year.

How had I never noticed he was in this class?

Eventually school ended and I was on my way to the clearing that Kane had shown me yesterday. I had been dreading it all day but since Kane wasn't at school today, and he wouldn't answer any of my texts, I figured it was the only place I could go for some answers. On the other hand, I was extremely nervous because he said his entire pack would be there too. I stupidly forgot to ask what the alpha was like and how many werewolves were in the pack.

I feel ridiculous using that word. Werewolves.

I was still having a hard time believing all of this werewolf stuff, but after seeing Kane change right in front of me, and seeing my face and hands change yesterday, then the whole necklace incident... There was just too much evidence for me to not believe that something was going on here, even if that something was me being a werewolf.

It scared me though, thinking about being a werewolf. Kane had said that it hurts to change, and it's worse for the first time, especially if you fight it. I wasn't looking forward to turning, if I was going to turn that is.

I shook my head to clear it, I couldn't think about that right now, I needed to focus on not getting lost. Plus, Kane promised that he and the pack would answer any questions I had, and I had plenty. I just needed to take this one day at a time, and today I needed to concentrate on learning all the useful information I'd need to make it through my new life.

I kept driving till I recognized the turn that lead into the woods. I followed the path that we took yesterday until I saw several other cars parked along the opening into the clearing. I found an empty spot and parked my car. I looked around before getting out, through the windshield I could see about five or six people gathered in the middle of the clearing. Some were sitting, some stood. I saw two of them wrestling.

"They don't seem too scary." I mutter as I unbuckle my seatbelt and get out of the car. When I closed the door they all froze and turned to look at me. I guess they could hear me from all the way over here, maybe super hearing is another side effect of what they are- err, what we are? I pushed the thought out of my mind and started forward, having learned from yesterdays outfit, today I wore skinny jeans, a grey sweater, and some grey vans. Much more suitable for trampling through nature.

When I finally reached them I realized there were six of them total, four boys and two girls. Kane was nowhere in sight. They were all just staring at me until finally I spoke up.
"Uh, hi. I'm Nicole..." I started. Just then two boys came from the tree line, they were too far way for me to see them clearly but I could sense that one of them was Kane. Everyone turned to them and we all waited for them to get closer.

I looked down and played with the edge of my sweater, waiting for Kane to address me, but the voice I heard first wasn't Kane's.
"Nicole?" A male voice said in disbelief. I looked up, my eyes went wide when I saw who it was.
