A/N: **WARNING!! Un-edited until further notice** Enjoy <3

The time had come. It had officially been a month since I found out about what I am and tonight was the full moon, which meant it was time for my first change and claiming with the pack. I could tell from the moment I woke up that morning, something was different. I was even more on edge than usual, so much so that I didn't even stay for breakfast with my parents that morning. It was Saturday, so, thankfully, I didn't have school. I was barely on speaking terms with my parents now but things were starting to almost be normal again, I didn't want to mess that up.

So instead, I went straight to Bae's house and we hid out in his room. I was laying upside down in his bed and he was on the floor leaning against the foot of his bed. He was looking at me, saying something, but I wasn't listening. I was too busy focusing on trying to communicate with my wolf. Kai had mentioned that it might help the change go over easier tonight if I was in touch with both parts of myself. She wasn't listening to me though, in fact I'm pretty sure that if we weren't the same living being, she would try to kill me. I could already tell tonight was going to be hell.

"Ugh!" I groaned in frustration as I gave up on my attempts, covering my face with my arms while doing so.
"Well I didn't think I was being that annoying, but okay." Bae said as he got up and walked over to his window.
"Sorry, it's not you. It's her." I'd been trying for quite some time now to get in touch with my wolf, so he knew what I meant immediately.

"Still no luck?" He asked as I sat up and swung my legs over the side of the bed.
"Not even a little." I said as I stood and walked towards him. I pulled the curtain back and looked out. I bit my bottom lip nervously as I saw the moon peaking out from behind the clouds. It was still pretty low, but that didn't make me feel better.

"Hey. You're going to be fine." Bae grabbed me by my shoulders and moved me away from the window. "Everyone else like us has lived through the first change, so can you."
I nodded and looked down, my hands in some sort of anxious duel with each other. I reached for my phone in my back pocket to check the time, 6:36PM. Kane wanted us all at the clearing by 8PM. We'd need to leave soon, and just like that I was sent into another panic frenzy.

"We need to start heading out in a few, you should have plenty of time before you..."He trailed off before looking at me. "Uh, but better safe than sorry."
I tried my best to give a smile and followed it up with a small nod.
"Honestly Nikki, after the change is over, it's like the best feeling in the world." He tried to reassure me again.
"Really?" I asked hopefully.
"Yes. I imagine it's the equivalent to taking off a bra after a long day, but multiplied by like a hundred." I laughed at his comparison, feeling a bit better.

"So you ready to head out?" He grabbed my jacket and waited for my answer. I stared for a minute before allowing him to help me put it on, and nodding. I took a deep breath and followed him out to his car.

It was now 7:56PM, and the gang was all here. We had all gathered in a smaller clearing, further back into the woods than the one we'd first met in. This one was surrounded by thicker trees and there was no grass, just dirt and leaves from the season change. Kane had gone step by step through what was about to happen to me, all while using his weird alpha powers to magically calm me. I usually hated when he did that, it made me feel like I was being manipulated to bow to him when I wanted to fight him on something. Like the night of the party, instead of storming off I really wanted to keep yelling, but something made me pull back and let him have his win, but tonight I was grateful.

At around 9PM I started feeling the first stage. There was a deep pressure inside of me, I could feel it literally weighing me down. It was becoming harder to breathe, like my lungs were being crushed under this heaviness. Eventually Kane told me to make myself comfortable and just lay down on the ground. It felt weird because the rest of my pack was just sitting around me, watching, but laying down sounded like the best and most comfortable option. So I did it.
