Raylon

I pick up the rose that Ashlar dropped on the tip of my shoe and sigh. Nothing has changed.

I slowly make my way to the gardens and walk through the grove of trees.

What did she mean 'until she's able to leave this living nightmare?'

I sit on a bench as I see my twin, Elli out on her balcony. I run to the doors and up to her room.

"Are you insane? That's one form out of thousands! Do you actually think it would work?" She argued.

"Elli, I have to try. I love her."

"Look, I know you do. But I also know that she doesn't have feelings for you." She put a hand on my shoulder. "If we do this, she will know you love her, or maybe love to prank her. You don't know where this will go."

I nod and look at the rose I was still holding.

"I know." I finally respond. "All you have to do is fill out a form for her, and bring it to me when you are done."

"I'll do it. But if I get caught I'm spilling the whole plan." She says as a smile creeps on her face.

I playfully roll my eyes and walk out of her room, right into mine next door.

I flop onto my bed and smile at the rose still in my hand.

"Katnip, you may have thorns and wilted petals, but all you need is someone to help mend you. I hope that can be me."

I lay the rose on my nightstand and head to my office.
