Aubrey's P.O.V
It's been almost a week of having David around. We had spent so much time together. I had to admit I couldn't imagine a day without him.
I was sitting in the band hall it was after school and I was waiting for David to give me a ride home. Suddenly my phone rang:
"H-hello?"
"Hey Aubrey."
"L-leave m-m a-alone A-Austin."
"You're shuttering again."
"I-I a-always s-shutter."
"You should go back to my mom."
"I-I h-hate therapists."
"No you hate me."
"N-no."
"Yes."
Then I hung up. I lied when I said I didn't hate him. My breathing quicken and I slowly stood from where I was sitting in the band hall.
I started to feel sick. So I ran, I didn't make it very far before running into David. "Hey are you okay?" he asked concerned.
"S-someone c-called m-me w-who I-I didn't want to talk t-to," I shuttered.
"Who?" David asked.
"My ex boyfriend," I whispered.
"Oh."
"H-his m-mom used to be m-my therapist for my a-anxiety. That's h-how I-I m-meet him."
"Wow...that's complicated."
I nodded. "H-he wanted me t-to go back t-to h-his m-mom. B-but I-I c-can't."
Then, David hugged me. I had to stand on my tippy-toes to hug him back better.
"I've had a pretty sucky after school so far too."
"What happened?"
"My band's gig got cancelled and I feel like it's my fault."
I shook my head "Don't b-blame that on your self."
David shrugged. I grabbed his hand "Let me take y-you s-somewhere."
After we were in David's car, I directed him to the local art museum. He gave me a "really?" look but I knew what I was doing.
We walked up the long stairs to the museum. I remained silent as David tried to figure out why we were there.
"Hey Aubrey! I haven't seen you in a while!" the desk lady named Olivia smiled. After coming there so often she knew me.
"H-hi m-my f-friend D-David n-needs c-cheering u-up s-so I t-took h-him t-to the b-best p-place I k-know," I stuttered. I hated talking so much.
"Well you're always welcome here, Aubrey," Olivia smiled.
"Okay I'm officially confused," David admitted as we walked into the art gallery.
