*I FINALLY found a picture of Ashlynn :D*
I was walking toward the cafeteria, when I saw Ashlynn standing in the middle of a group of boys, but that's pretty typical for her. Without a necklace, she feels free to flirt with and date any boys she wants to. Even though their necklaces don't light up, all the boys she catches date her for as long as they can. I, myself, don't understand why they would do that considering they know she's not their soulmate. Then I remember how beautiful she is and how fun she is to be around and it kind of makes sense to me. They just want to be able to have the memories and say "I dated this girl and she wasn't even my soulmate."
I looked up to see Ashlynn waving at me. As I was walking through the crowd, my necklace lit up for a brief second. Man, this thing was sure irritating.
Ashlynn smiled at me. "So, how's your day been? Did you find your one, true love?" she said with a somewhat sarcastic tone.
"Oh, Ash. You won't believe the day I've had."
I began to tell her about my day so far, not missing a single detail. I had finally come to the point where Mr. Collins mentioned War and The Outcome.
"Eden, I know you don't like Mr. Willow, but you really need this class! Let me see your schedule and I'll help you decide what class to switch it with."
I pulled out the wrinkled schedule from my pocket.
First hour: Literature; Mrs. Knight
Second hour: Music Appreciation; Mr. Willow
Third hour: Government; Mr. Collins
Fourth hour: Trigonometry; Mrs. Houghton
Fifth hour: Chemistry; Ms. Elma
Sixth hour: French 3; Mr. Dupont
and finally, Seventh hour: War and The Outcome; Mr. Willow.
"Okay, two things. One, your teachers have messed up names. Two, looks like you already have the class!"
"Oh, wonderful. Ash, do we have any classes together?"
"Umm, yeah! We have trigonometry together. So we can walk to class after lunch."
Although we only have one class together, I'm still glad I get to see her. Oh my gosh, I completely forgot I didn't even ask her how her day was going so far. I was too consumed in my own issues. Dang, Eden. You need to be a better friend.
"Ashlynn, tell me about your day!"
"Well, in first hour I saw this really cute guy. Then, I thought I probably shouldn't because he seems like one of those sensitive types. So, I just moved on with with my day. Second hour was totally boring, but in third hour I saw the same guy again! He was sitting next to this guy who was so my type. He had this rebellious vibe to him. He had long-ish, brown hair and these deep brown eyes. Oh, and his jawline! Well, I took my seat when all of a sudden, he walks up to me and asks me to come to a party tonight! I said 'I'll see what I have going on.' And we exchanged numbers. Then, he asked me if I had anyone for a friend his buddy could hang out with, you know, the cute one, and I said 'Totally.' Oh, and his name is Connor. The one you're going to be with is Logan. So, yeah. We're going to a party tonight!"
Oh my, this girl can ramble.
"Ash, what if my necklace doesn't light up?"
"Oh, just have some fun! Turn it around for tonight and live a little bit."
Live a little bit? I'm almost running out of time to find my soulmate. Although, a night out not worrying about it would be fun. I wonder what this Logan guy looks like. I usually prefer guys with short hair and a clean shave. I don't like muscles either. They gross me out for some reason. I know it doesn't make much sense considering I'm so active, but whatever.
The bell rings and Ashlynn and I make our way to fourth hour. I look down at my necklace and notice it lit up again, but only for a brief second. It's so strange that it keeps doing that. At least I know my soulmate is somewhere in this building.
