"Okay Dad. Call me when you land."
"Don't worry hon. I will." My dad replies.
It was the morning after I visited Lucy. After I came home from my date with Ryder, I was very happy and bubbly. I still am a little bit, and I can't wait to see Ry again! Now, my dad's on his way to the airport, and I was on the phone with him.
"Okay, I miss you. Come back soon."
"I will, oh! And don't forget to make sure that kid, Jace, does his job." Oh yeah.. That was today.
"...Okay, yeah dad. Have a safe flight! Be back before Christmas!"
"I'll try sweetie."
"Okay...Bye." I hung up. I was used to my dad going on business trips, but I didn't want him to miss Christmas, because it was so close. His business trips are usually around 1-6 months, at the most. He's missed Christmas twice before, and those were my worst.
At the Christmas family dinner, I was upset. My cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents were trying to cheer me up, but nothing worked. I looked at them and saw a perfect family, with the children, and their parents. And then there was me. My dad was really the only close family I had, but he wasn't with me.
All night, I sat crying. I only had Felix with me, because Lucy was with her nephews, and niece. 'How could he not come home for Christmas?' I thought.
Those times were when I was 12, and 13. Two years in a row. When he came back, I was furious with him. It's gotten better these years, but I guess we're not as close as we used to be.
I got changed, and started to do my make up and hair. I put on mascara, eye liner, foundation, lip gloss, and a bit of eye shadow. There.
I looked at myself. Okay, good.
Hair next.
Yesterday, I left my hair down because I wanted to try something new. I personally like my hair wavy, but not everyone does.
At Milestones yesterday, Ryder asked;
Flashback.
"Hey Rose, you look different today." Ry said taking a sip of his coke.
"Um... Yeah. I didn't straighten my hair." I replied looking up from my menu.
"Oh."
"Why..? Do you like it?" I asked hopefully. I was really expecting a speech like 'Yeah, I love it. Let you're true beauty show blablabla...' But it wasn't exactly it.
"Nah. I like it how it was before." He said before going back to his menu.
End of Flashback.
I was like 'Oh, okay...' Awkward.
Now I felt kind of self conscious. Did I really have to ask him his opinion on everything? What if he doesn't like my clothes? Hair? Make up? Agghh. And if Ryder doesn't like it, what about the rest of the school body?
Okay, Anyways. I'm straightening my hair. Definitely.

"Hey Felix."
"Back from school already, Rose?" He asks.
"Yep. The garden's looking nice." I compliment. Felix was outside doing the garden. He was planting these beautiful carnations and a bunch of other flowers in the front garden. He may seem like a tough guy, but on the inside he was a softie, hence the love for flowers.
