Jason Grace
A lot of Jason's time on the quest had been spent unconscious. His goal for the rest of the quest was for that not to happen again. He was sick of missing out on things and being hit over the head or suffering life threatening wounds. Now don't get him wrong, Jason fully realized what came with being the son of Jupiter, but still it didn't mean he had to like getting injured all of the time.
Jason had lost track of Piper during the fight and hadn't seen her since. He crossed his fingers and hoped she was still alive and well. As of now, he was fighting along side some hybrid version of Zeus and Jupiter. Lightning bolts rained down from above the clouds, striking the terrible giant Porphyrion. Jason helped out and sent burning our bolts of fiery lightning at the monster. However, his was not nearly as hot as Zeus'. Jason was feeling very sluggish and sending down super powerful rays of electricity was now helping.
He just really wanted this war to be over. He was sick of it and sick of everything that was happening. For all Jason cared Gaea could stick that overly pretty chalice up her butt.
In a loud final bolt and a sudden cry from Porphyrion, and the giants crumpled and laid still for a moment. Not a moment sooner did it turn into golden dust. Jason let out a sigh, he and his godly sperm donor had done. They killed their almighty powerful bane, fairly quickly, however these small victories were only battles. They needed to win the war, and to do that, they had to put Gaea asleep. Jason gripped his weapon tighter, letting himself catch his breath for a moment. He had never felt so utterly exhausted and defeated after defeating an obstacle. He couldn't just call it finished after killing this foe, he and the other six had to find each other at the end of the battle and join forces to put Gaea back into her slumber.
"Jason," Zeus or Jupiter's voice boomed clearly from beside him, "Go to the temple on the hill, there's a box in there, it'll give you everything you need to put Gaea away."
Jason watched Zeus/Jupiter zip away to some further region of the battle, decimating countless monsters in one go. It was ridiculous.
Jason nodded to himself and took part in the quest Zeus told him to embark on, so he picked up his sluggish legs and carried himself up a rocky slope to the temple ruins.
There wasn't a monster in sight, and the further he got to the top the more the battle's noises disappeared. He found it rather peaceful, and it made him want to nap, however Jason resisted the eerie feeling and brought himself to once magnificent temple. Aged pillars took two feet apart, some were broken, while others were standing like they were practically brand new. The only thing that gave their age away was the ancient writing across the stones and how nearly every part of the building was collapsed.
Jason hurdled over a collapsed column and immediately the scene changed. He was no longer standing in a collapsed temple, but an extravagant room, rather than standing on dirt like before, he was on marble. The same marble made up the walls and the columns in the room. The room seemed pure, untouched, and Jason found himself relaxing. However he got down to business and located the box his dad was talking about.
It resting in the middle of the room, other than Jason and the box, they were the only things in it. He didn't need to delay the end of the war any further, so Jason made his way to the box.
He stood over it for a moment before kneeling not down beside it. His hands reached for the latch and he undid said latch. Jason was half expecting some mega booby trap to come out and kill him, but nothing happened. Resting on a soft cushion was a vial of white liquid. Jason reached in and picked it up. The vial was smooth and Jason was afraid he'd drop it.
Jason muttered to himself, getting up from the ground and sliding the vial gently into his pocket. What was he supposed to do with that? Make Gaea drink it? Pour it onto the ground and hope she soaked it up? Jason Grace had no freaking idea what he was supposed to do with it. Maybe he could ask dad about it, if he would answer it.
Just as he was about to leave, soft scratching came from the box. Jason turned around to see who the sudden intruder was. But, the only thing that was there was the box, and in the box, there were letters, words, and a sentence being engraved onto the inner side of the lid. He bent back down and read what was written.
"Take was one wants most and use it against them."
Jason knew it was a long shot, but he felt the vial in his pocket, and immediately ran out the room,he knew what he needed to do. He had to find Annabeth, this would be their only chance.
When he got out of the temple, everything seemed to be falling exactly into place. His absence in the battlefield had not affected the outcome of the incoming victory for the demigods. In fact, everything thing was going very well.
Jason wasn't sure how long he was in the little room, but battles had ceased. He spotted Annabeth from the top of the hill a ways away. Her overly blonde hair had come out of his pony tail and she was being supported by Percy.
Jason made his way down the slope and broke into a sprint across the field, slaying the stray monster here and there.
"Annabeth! Annabeth!" Jason yelled, his voice carried across the field.
Both Percy and Annabeth turned and looked at him. Their faces were tired and cuts littered nearly every part of their bodies. They had hardly recovered from their tortuous time in Tartarus.
Percy smiled at him, "Jason! Where have you been? Piper was worried something creepy monster carried you off."
Jason turned and looked, "Where is Piper?"
"She's with Leo." Annabeth responded, wrapped her arm tighter around Percy's back.
Jason nodded, "Is everyone alright?"
Percy answered, "Yeah, everyone made it out with any major injuries, it was nice having the gods' help, but now, we have to figure how to put Gaea back to sleep."
"That's where I was, and I have a plan." Jason said, pulling out the little vial of white liquid, "This will solve all of our problems."
