Frank ZhangHe wasn't too sure how they were going to find the fox in the thousands acres of land that made up the area they were in, but somehow knowing the other six on the quest, they could. And they needed to, that way they could make sure their quest was completed. If he were to fail this, then the world would most probably end. Frank Zhang would most likely end up saying to himself before Gaea killed him that he caused the end of humanity. In the end, he knew it was going to come down to him.
"Landing in five." Leo shouted over the intercom of the Argo II before clicking it off.
Frank turned his attention away from the intercom and back to Hazel who was walking back up deck, sweaty and exhausted. "Are you alright?" Frank asked Hazel who only smiled warily in return.
He nodded back to her, before taking Annabeth's place next to Hazel, "What did you do?" He asked her, Hazel grinned before turning to the rest of the seven; not including Leo who was landing the ship in a nearby field.
"We aren't going to use Laelaps at all, we need to use you Frank. You need to transform into the dog, we're expecting that you'll have it's instincts as well." Annabeth filled in, "We need you the most right now. So don't go off and die in the next five minutes, okay?"
Frank nodded in return, "So I have to transform into this Laelaps and chase a fox never destined to be caught?"
"Wrong, you find its den. That's where the sea jewel will be." Annabeth corrected him.
Frank sighed in return, "Got it.''
To start off with, he was scared out of his wits. He didn't even know if he could change into Laelaps, he had never tried any mythological creature beside a dragon, but that was like a giant fire-breathing dinosaur, and dinosaurs were considered normal. He shook his head, at this point he was confusing himself.
"Do I get a picture of this dog or...?" Frank began and Annabeth filled in for him.
"Think of a greyhound, but with the name 'Laelaps'." She told him, with a reassuring grin along side Hazel.
"You'll do fine." Hazel told him quietly, kissing him gently on the lips before patting his shoulder in encouragement.
Frank glanced at every member before thinking about a super sensed greyhound called Laelaps. He guessed one could call it thinking. The next thing he knew, everything was black and white. His senses were enhanced and instantly his ears were ringing.
He tried to speak but it came out as a loud, low pitched bark. He couldn't remember what he had to do exactly, but find a fox maybe? Everything was jumbled, all he knew was that he wanted to lick every single person standing around him.
"Find the Teumessian Fox. You can do it Frank." The support of the people around him were telling him to find a fox.
Almost instantly, a trail of light green smoke was trailing off into the forest surround them and up into the mountains. Frank took off, his doggy senses overwhelming him with excitement. He jumped over the ledge of the boat and landed on his front four paws and raced off after the green trail.
He knew at the end of the trail was a prize awaiting him and he knew he had to reach it.
He heard voices calling for him further behind him, but he paid no attention to it. Moving away from a tree he found another yellow trail moving off to the east. He was almost tempted to follow the trail to whatever yummy treat was at the end of it. Frank shook his head and continued chasing the original trail down a hill and into a dark part of the forest. He was running at speeds unknown to his human form, but this dog form he was in was exhilarating! He couldn't think of anything else he'd rather be doing then this, chasing the Teumessian Fox. He soon found himself reaching a clearing in the forest and as the trees thinned out and so did the trail.
He huffed, and took a large breath inward.
He found the trail again.
Chasing after the green smoke became a game again. He found himself dodging trees and snaking along a river, he soon was gazing up a mountain. The trail led up the mountain and so Frank followed.
The trail led off into many multiple directions, but he followed the one most prominent. It began to disperse as the trail began to hike further up the mountain. He barked in frustration before he picked up the trail again.
It led further up the mountain, towards a small cave fifteen feet above him. He smirked inwardly, and began to climb as a dog up the mountain, avoiding any patches of snow or ice.
He made the way up successfully, and began walking into the cave. The smoke had disappeared completely and once again it was dark.
It was darker then the forest, but his eye sight helped as he moved around through the dark.
He transformed back into his human self, it was easier to move around this way. All the colored trails around him disappeared and the ringing in his ears faded.
A jewel, he was looking for a sea jewel. Frank took a right turn through the tavern knowing to keep track of where he was going, he took a right, then left, then another right. After the final right, the cave opened up into a huge opening, where thousands of jewels decorated the ground begging for him to pick one up.
"You can have one." A voice echoed through the cave.
"The sea jewel belonging to the goddess Ceto, is what I've come for." Frank spoke to no one in particular. The cavern shook as everything but a green jewel disappeared and melted into oblivion. Frank hurried and ran to pick it up.
"Ah, ah, ah." The voice clicked its tongue when Frank tried to pick it up, but it only became a gas as it dispersed into thin air.
"Pass these three tests and you will receive your prize, fail and I will claim your life." It said grimly, before the cavern darkened and was filled with screams that didn't belong to him.

And this chapter is finished. It might not quite be three pages, but its close enough. It took me long enough to get it up as it is. (Which I'm sorry for) I try my best to update every other day or every two days. This time is was four I believe. Sorry.
But here it is that update, over the past week this story reached #53 in Action and #93 in Adventure. That's crazy you know. Also, I'm hoping for more feedback, getting feedback is what will help me move the story along faster and get me wanting to write.
You guys can thank Black Veil Brides and Queen for this chapter, I've been listening to, " Another One Bites the Dust" and the album Wretched and Divine by Black Veil Bride over and over again today. And may I say it is amazing. Go listen to it. But be warned there are scream-o parts in it. So yeah.
See hopefully tomorrow or Monday! :D
Also don't forget to vote, fan, and comment if you haven't! We've reached our goal of 100 fans today the next one is 150 by Christmas! See ya guys soon. Love ya. (Sorry this is long)
Xoxo,
Alex
