Harry walked into his flat and I trailed behind, suddenly becoming seemingly aware that this may not be the best situation considering this boy wasn’t very fond of me for whatever reason. Maybe I should go back and stay with Niall.

I looked inside and saw that the layout of the flat was exactly the same as mine except flipped so that the stairs were on the right side instead of the left. That means he has to have two bedrooms so I don’t see why he wouldn’t have an extra bed since every flat comes with one, and he lives alone. I walked inside, closing the door behind me and setting my heels on the tile floor next to the closed door. Harry was standing in the kitchen, pouring a glass of water.

I stood and watched him, waiting for him to say something, but he didn’t. I decided to walk up to the counter and sit on the stool. Watching as he got another cup and poured water into it too.

“Sober up,” he said as he slid a cup towards me.

“I’m perfectly fine,” I said defensively, pushing the cup back towards him.

“I said sober up. I don’t need any post-party complaining to wake up to in the morning, okay? Drink it,” he demanded. As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t argue with him for the fear of getting kicked out for the second time tonight. Plus, I don’t like arguing with strangers inside of their house. I drank the water as he drank his and started unpacking his grocery bag.

“So, Harry. Tell me about yourself,” I asked casually.

“I plan on living a good life and only party on occasion so that I don’t screw up my future by some stupid mistake that most kids our age will end up making. You?” he quipped. That one stung just a little.

“Well I enjoy going to parties and only getting completely shit-faced on occasion so that I don’t screw up my future by ending up in a random bed with a random guy like most girls our age will end up doing,” I said in a mocking tone, finishing up my water. He glared back at me.

“Listen Logan, I only took you in because I’ve seen the other girls Niall has taken in recently and I know he has quite a few big tests coming up and, being the good mate I am, I’m watching out for him. Not you, okay? You don’t even have to stay here, but from what I learned tonight, you have nowhere else to go.”

“I have plenty of other places to go. I thought you deemed to be a generally half decent person so I thought staying the night wouldn’t be such a pain in the ass but obviously it’s not going as planned. I wasn’t stranded,” I said, finding myself becoming defensive again. Why does this guy hate me so much? I didn’t ask him for a place to stay or anything.

“If this is such a pain in the ass why are you still here?” he said nonchalantly.

“I’m actually going to go now. Thanks for the water. Goodnight Harry,” I said as I hopped off the stool and started walking towards the door.

He had his elbows on the counter and started drumming his fingers across his stomach.

“If you leave then you’re gone for the night. I’m not going to get up if you knock on the door,” he said, looking at me with an annoying smirk set across his face.

“I wasn’t planning on coming back. Ever. Bye,” I spat. I picked up my heels, looked at him and scoffed.

“Dick,” I muttered.

“My pleasure,” was the last thing I heard him say before slamming his door shut and stomping down his stairs.

How could he have the nerve to do that? Who just invites someone to spend the night and acts all nice only to try and push them away right after? I don’t even know this kid! If he thinks I’m going to come running back to him then he is so wrong. I’m not planning on talking to him ever again.
