Shocked barely described the feeling I had at that moment.

“What the fuck?! You’re just going to kick me out? I have nowhere to go!” I yelled, standing up. Haley didn’t flinch at my outburst.

“Yes. Be out by tonight please and thanks.” And that was that. She closed my door and left.

Staying calm is definitely what I need to do right now but I don’t think I can. I’m technically homeless. I have a job and money so I could buy some shitty apartment or, at the very least, motel room. Oh God this sucks. All I have for transportation is public transportation and my old skateboard.

I checked the time only to realize the party is in two hours. Time for plan A.

“Louis,” I said into the phone as I started to pack all my stuff into my suitcases.

“Hey Logan, what’s up? I heard you’re going to the party tonight.”

“About that, I was wondering if you have Niall’s number. I need to ask him about some uh…homework,” I lied.

Fitting all of my stuff into my suitcases is pretty much impossible. I’m going to have to steal some bags from work or something to fit all of my mixing gear and clothes.

“Um, yeah, sure. I’ll text it to you,” he said.

“Thanks! Sorry to bug you. I’ll see you tonight,” I said, quickly hanging up. I set my phone down and went back to packing. My phone buzzed a few minutes later with Niall’s number on the screen. I punched in the number and sat on my suitcase, trying to zip it up. I should get an award for packing so fast.

“Hello?”

“Hey Niall it’s Logan, are you at your flat?” I asked. I tucked the phone on my shoulder and held it in place with my head as I ripped the sheets and blankets off my bed and threw them into my suitcase.

“Um...why do you ask?” he said. I ran down the stairs and stole some grocery bags and ran back upstairs and filled them with the clothes that didn’t fit in my suitcase.

“Does it matter? Are you home or not?” I said annoyed. I was lying on my sheet-less bed and breathing heavily, relieved that my hurried packing was now done.

“Yeah,” he sighed.

“I’ll be there in a few,” I said and hung up the phone before he could argue. I walked out of my room and knocked on Haley’s door.

She didn’t answer.

“Haley…Are you sure about this I mean-“

“Goodbye Logan!” she yelled through the door. I sighed in defeat and took all of my bags and nearly tumbled down the stairs with them.

Once at the bottom I looked back up, hoping she might poke her head out of the door and ask me to come back. But she didn’t.

I got my skateboard from the beside the door and put it on top of my rolling bag, then walked out, not locking the door on purpose. Plus I still had my key, so I could always come back. I mean…I would get bitched at by Haley, but I could still come back.

I walked out and grabbed my skateboard off of my suitcase and rode down the pavement towards Niall’s flat. He better not have a roommate.

Skateboarding is so much faster than walking. I made it to Niall’s in a good six minutes and started pounding on the door.

“Hey Lo-what the hell is all this shit?” said Niall when he opened his door.

“Oh these? I don’t know…I’ll show you,” I said, pushing past him into his flat before he could stop me. I set all my bags down and kicked off my shoes.
