Speeding through the cars, I hoped I didn't crash.
That was the last thing I needed right now.
As I drifted through the traffic, my mind wandered to Valkyrie. Would she survive this time? Or would she die again, and have to be brought back?
The thought set off butterflies in my stomach, which turned to tarantulas as I thought and thought over the idea.
What if the starburst didn't work?
BEEP!
I swerved out of the way of the truck, ignoring the profanities which were thrown my way, and got my bike back under control, just managing to turn in time off onto the small 'closed off' lane, which led into Roarhaven.Running along the roof of the sanctuary, looked easy for an adept like me. But having your mind anywhere but defying gravity when your walking on walls, was dangerous, all adepts knew it.
Which was why I was Tanith Low, and completely ignored this fact as my mind drifted towards my little 'sister', who was probably still scared and shaking.
Heading towards the medical bay, a few rogue eyes looked up and gasped in surprise, but I didn't care.
If only I'd known who's eyes they were. When I finally reached the doors, I dropped from the roof, a few mages stumbling back, and basically sprinted through the doors to the reception desk. The lady at the desk sighed, like she's already had this happen, and pointed at the first door, and I nodded my thanks, stopping at the door.
I had to be strong.
Pushing the door open slightly, I glanced Valkyrie asleep, on Skulduggery's chest, the rise and fall of her chest keeping me sane, and I sighed, sagging a little.
She was safe.
She was safe."Tanith..." A voice whispered, and I whipped my head around, hearing that voice.
His voice.
And came face to face with Ghastly Bespoke.
I resisted the urge to scream, my stomach flipping, my breaths short, and my knees started to collapse as he caught me.
My mind suddenly felt foggy, as I coughed, tears spilling out of my eyes, falling onto Ghastly's arms, him hugging me as close as he could, basically crushing me to his chest. He twirled me around slightly, burying his head in my hair, and inhaling.
Tears blurred my vision as we silently embraced.
I didn't question it either, why he was alive and how.
At the moment,I didn't need answers.
I just needed him.*Bit of GHANITH for everyone! 🙌🏻😝*
