Teagans POV
"Okay guys today is our first challenge." Zac said we all groaned why wake us up this early. It was 7 eam like yeah not really early but since I'm not going to school I shouldn't be up at this hour.
"It's a scavenge hunt. And before you grunt and call it lame it has a cool twist." He carried on, "I will split the 5 of you into two groups and you will search the woods for clues, riddles. And you have to search for a flag. The first team to get it and bring it back wins, if no one has it by dusk the game is over and there will be a tie breaker."
"Cool." Mikey comments.
"And the winner will get a prize when you get back, now you have 20 minuets to change and each team will get one of these bags. Each containing different things. Good luck." Zac finished and sat down while we all walked back into the cabin.
I threw on a pair of athletic shorts and a nirvana Tshirt. I put my hair into a bun, washed my face and grapes my converse.
I didn't bring runners so this is as good as it gets.
I went back outside and saw all the guys waiting for me.
"Okay teams, I am aware one person will have a bigger team, to their advantage so the smaller team gets the first clue." He looked at all of us and we smiled. "Okay so Ashton stand on one side and Calum on the other."
"Aston pick two names from this jar and Calum pick one." The boys did as told and Calum chuckled when he read his paper. "Ashton who did you get?"
"Luke and Mike." Ashton said happily and I groaned, a whole day alone with Calum in the woods. I went over to stand beside him.
"Okay team Hood here's your bag and the first clue, you have 5 minutes as a head start. And that starts now!" Zac exclaimed.
Calum threw the bag over his shoulder and we were of into the woods.
I opened the piece of paper.
I run but never walk.
I have a bed but I never sleep.
I have the next clue.I read out loud and Calum and I thought for a bit. I gave out random objects.
"A river." He stated quietly.
"Calum that's stupid-" he cut me off, why is he being so serious today?
"The water runs but water can't run, a river bed but the water doesn't sleep." He justified his point and I nodded along. He was right.
"Okay river is this way. And are you okay?" I asked going under a branch he let go of.
"Yeah what made you think I wasn't?" He asked in a monotone voice.
"You're being quiet and serious." I shrugged, "You're usually upbeat and goofy."
"In a bad mood today." I shrug. And I captured myself in the thought of what's going on with Calum.
So captured that I didn't even notice the giant root that caught on my foot ant tripped me. I let out a little squeal and Calum quickly turned around.
Before I could hit the ground Calums arms were wrapped around my waist holding me up. I was breathing heavily from surprise and Calum had a worried yet blank look on his face.
He puts my on my feet then let's go turning around. He kept on walking. That was it, no flirty remark or no moves made. I furrowed my eyebrows but kept walking. "Calum stop."
