Just like always, de big dinner in the main hall had been great. The never ending bowls with mashed potatoes, the plates filled with roast beef had always been a big success. However, there were only a few students who tried out the veggies. Who would even want to eat vegetables at a meal like this? Especially when you knew the desert was still to come. Chocolate pudding, different cakes and ice-cream until you could not eat. It was a meal to look forward to, even if you had already eaten it six times.

The dinner went the usual way. After the sorting hat had sorted everyone in their houses, Regulus ended up in Slytherin, their headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, held his speech and mumbled some things no-one actually understood, but just like always: everybody just went with it. There was one thing different about this diner and that was that James and Lily had been seated next to each other and for the first time in what felt like forever, Sirius had seen Lily laugh about the stupid, corny jokes his friend had made. He might have laughed about it in the Hogwarts express, where they by the had found Peter when they had almost arrived, but he never had thought that James could have been right and when he said that "it" was going to happen this year. It turned out that James was right.

After the dinner, the four friend had gone to their common room, but soon they decided to just go to their dorm. Well, three of them. James wanted to stay with Lily and since she wasn't allowed in the boys-dorm, he wanted to stay in the common room. With that being decided, Sirius, Remus and Peter were lying horizontally on of the beds. Sirius was in the middle and right in front of him was the Marauders map.

They had created the map a couple of years ago. The map would show Hogwarts. All of Hogwarts. It would show every room, every hallway, every little room that was even in the castle, but it could also show everyone in it. The map didn't fall for some of the tricks from students. For instance, if a student was under Polyjuice potion, the map would still reveal his real name. Even when their friend James used his invisibilitycloak, the map would still show his name.

The map was their way of keeping an eye on Hogwarts, but it was also entertainment. You could see anyone at any time. Even if they didn't want to be seen.

'You know what we should do? We should go to Hogsmaede,' said Sirius, looking at one of the secret passages the map showed. 'And while were there, we should treat ourselves with some butterbeer.' He got of the bed and turned to his friends.

'But we aren't allowed in. We're not eighteen,' Remus said, not taking his eyes of the map.

'Remus is right. Even if we got in, still aren't allowed to drink,' Peter mumbled.

'So? I wasn't allowed to drink back home, but I still did it. Just lie, that's all you have to do.' Sirius said. 'Come on, guys. I thought we just said that we were up to no good?'

'I suppose we could go...' Peter said. Like always, Peter was the first one to give in. James would have probably thought it was a great idea to begin with, so the only one who Sirius had to convince, was Remus.

'Remus?' Sirius had a grin on his face. He kneeled down in front of his friend, which caused Remus to finally look up. For a moment there, Sirius just stared into his blue eyes. Oh, how much he would that boy to go with him. Drink a little, have a little fun.

'Sirius,' Remus said, which made Sirius realize that he should probably say something.

'You know, James would want you to go. He would think this is the best idea ever.'

'Why don't you ask James, then?'

'Because he wants to take Lily as well and no way she wants to go. And if she says no, James won't go anyway. So why even bother asking?'

Remus sighed, looking at the map. The names of James and Lily were right next to each other and it seemed like they were all alone in the common room. It was about 10 p.m. So most of the students were probably getting ready for bed, since school would start the next day.

'We can try, can't we? If we don't get it, we can always go back?' Sirius said with his sweetest voice and he folded his hands together. He pouted and looked at his friend. 'Please?'

'Ugh, fine. Only because we aren't going to get in anyway,' Remus said.

'Yes!' Sirius yelled out. He got off his knees and walked over to James his bed. He searched through his stuff and in a few minutes, he had found where he was looking for.

'He won't mind if we borrow this.' Even though that they had de ability to see everything in this castle, didn't mean that they could get away without being seen. They would take the map with them, just to be sure that they wouldn't run into anybody, but the invisibilitycloak would just be something extra to make sure they would get out.

'Peter goes in the front, since he's the smallest,' said Sirius. The three friends took in their position: Sirius and Remus right next to each other and Peter in the front. Sirius draped the cloak around them and they slowly started walking.

When they were in the common room, Sirius saw his friend James on the couch with Lily. They were talking and they seemed to be having a good time. Sirius put his hand on the shoulder of Peter, which caused him to stop. Remus wanted to say something, but Sirius motioned that he should be quiet.

Carefully, Sirius grabbed one of the pillows and threw it right at his friend's head.

'Run, now!' hissed Sirius, even though they were already invisible.

'I know it's you, guys!' James yelled after them, but he didn't seem to be bothered enough to go after them.

They ran into the hallway, where they had to be quiet. Otherwise, people would hear them and then they wouldn't be able to go to Hogsmeade in the first place. So, the three friends quietly walked to one of the secret passages.

'Guys, McGonagall is coming,' Remus whispered. Sirius and Remus immediately stopped walking, but Peter walked ahead and the cloak slipped of his head. There wasn't any time for the boy to go back and hide, because McGonagall was already in the hallway.

'Mister Pettigrew, care to explain what you are doing here?'

'Eh, nothing. I was just eh..'

'Going back to my bedroom and go get some sleep, professor?' McGonagall said, finishing his sentence.

'Yes, professor. Goodnight.' Peter looked over at his friend, who were both trying to not burst out in laughter.

'Mister Pettigrew? Are you waiting for something?'

'No, professor. I'm already gone,' Peter said. He turned around and started to walk back to the Gryffindor common room. They all knew that there was no way that Peter would be going with them, but Sirius and Remus still had the chance to go.

Remus and Sirius waited until their professor was out of sight and finally, they could release some of their laughter. It was always Peter who got the most trouble. They never knew why, but it just happened to that poor boy. Even if he had nothing to do with it.

'Poor Peter. Maybe we should go back as well,' Remus said.

'Oh, hell no. We're going. We weren't going to get in with Peter anyway, but maybe now that it's just the two of us, we can,' Sirius said. He couldn't help it that his friend looked like a fourteen-year-old? Now that it was just Remus and him, they should be able to go in. Plus, they had the cloak. So his plan would probably succeed and the plan was even better now he was all alone with Remus.
