The day had been hell. Every time Sirius had tried to make some sort of contact with Remus, he had just ignored him. Pretended he didn't exist. Sirius understood that Remus was angry, but what he didn't get was that he didn't want to talk about it. Because Remus was the one who always wanted to talk things out, well he was most of the time. So Sirius thought that Remus would want to talk about what happened between them, but nothing had happened during the day. Even when they had to work together on a potion, Remus had just ignored him and had made the potion on his own.

In the evening, after diner, James had Quidditch practice and Sirius had tried to ignore Peter, just because he had wanted to be alone with Remus. He wasn't really touchy feely and all, but he did want to get this out of the way, just so they could be friends again.

Since Remus had ignored him all day, Sirius did have some time to figure things out, like what he was going to say and how he would explain the kiss. He wouldn't tell Remus about the feelings he had, even though he was now definitely sure that there were feelings. He would just say that it was a drunken mistake and he would apologize, hoping that his friend would have the heart to accept his apology and just pretend like it had never happened in the first place.

Sirius found Remus in the library. He didn't get why since school had only just started. Still, the blonde boy's face was buried in one of his books. He looked quite adorable. His eyes so focused on the words, his furry eyebrows narrowed together, trying to take in every new piece of information.

'Remus,' Sirius said, as he took on of the chairs, placed it next to Remus, and sat on it backwards, so his arms could rest on the part what was supposed to support his back.

'I'm busy.'

'Then stop being busy,' Sirius murmured. He pushed his hair back from his forehead. In the summer, his mom had told him that he should just wear it in a bun or something like that, but he refused to do that. He liked his hair like this. Putting it in a bun would made it so... nice and tight. He wasn't like that.

'Sirius, we're in a library. Even when I'd stop, we can't talk.'

'Be a rebellion for once, Moony,' Sirius said, using the nickname he had for his friend. Even if Remus didn't want to talk to him, Sirius wouldn't give up. They had spent the day not talking and Sirius could now say that he just needed Remus to talk to him. Yeah, he had James and Peter, but those two were nothing compared to the blonde boy he was now looking at.

'If we talk now, will you leave me alone after?'

'Can't promise that.' Sirius cracked a devilish smile. 'Maybe I will, maybe I won't. The possibilities are endless.'

'What kind of answer even is that.' Remus sounded annoyed, but Sirius could see him smiling, even though it was a little smile. 'But fine, just not here. Let's go outside.'

The two went outside. It was still September, so the sun was still shining a bit. Soon it would be Twilight, giving Hogwarts a beautiful spectrum of colors.

'I'm sorry about last night. You were right. I was really drunk,' Sirius said, while they walked over one of the paths. He felt guilty about saying this. Not to Remus, but to himself. He was lying. Yeah, he still had been very drunk, but that wasn't why he had kissed Remus.

'I figured,' Remus said. He stopped walking and looked at his friend. 'But I still don't get why you would kiss me, you know.'

'I know, I don't get it either.' Again, he lied. He could think of a million reasons why he would want to kiss Remus. Now that he had tasted his lips, he would love to taste them again. To feel his lips again and to finally have a real kiss, without Remus pushing him away. He'd want to be close to him, to let his hands slide trough the blonde hairs and to let his fingers caress the cheeks on his handsome face.

'But, I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have kissed you. I get that it's weird, but you're my friend, Remus. I don't want to lose you over so dumb, drunken kiss.'

'Who knew you could be so sentimental,' Remus said laughing, which made Sirius smile. That Remus was able to laugh, showed him that it was still possible for them to be friends.

'So we're okay?' Sirius asked, because he did want to know for sure.

'Yeah, we are. Just don't try to ever kiss me again.' Remus looked at Sirius and it seemed like he doubted for a second, but after that, he hugged Sirius briefly.

'I won't. If you won't tell anyone about what happened.' He really didn't want others to know what happened between them. If Remus couldn't even accept what happened, or not be okay with it, he doubted that others would be okay with it. So it was just better to keep it a secret and to try to hide his feelings.

'No worries, I won't tell anyone,' Remus said.

The two walked along, talking about their friendship and the other crazy things they had done together. Because even though the kiss was weird and something that never should have happened, in Remus eyes, they had been trough a lot in the past years. Like when they first made the Marauders map and someone had almost found out what it was. That's when they thought of a protection-spell, so that not everyone would use it. Only the thought of Snape, or any other stupid kid, having the map was so terrifying.

At the end of the evening, when everyone had returned to their room, Sirius and Remus were still outside. They had watched the sun going down, while they sat on a hill. Sirius stared at the moon, which was only just on his way to become a full moon. His eyes glanced over at his friend, who was also staring at the moon.

He remembered when Remus told about his condition. As a child, he was bitten by a werewolf. Remus said it was because of an insult his dad made towards the werewolf. Sirius had never been scared of his friend. Especially since he and his friends had decided to take care of Remus while he was under the spell of the full moon. That was in their second year of Hogwarts.

Since the fifth year at Hogwarts, Sirius, James and Peter were able to transform into animals. Sirius was able to transform into a large dog, James into a stag and Peter into a rat. The rat wasn't that helpful, but with the three of them, they could control Remus while he was a wolf. Once a month they would sneak out and use the secret passage to the Shrieking shag and protect Remus from hurting others. Even when Remus was still in the body of a wolf, his mind would understand that he was with his friends. With his pack.

'You know that when the time comes, we're here for you, right?' Sirius said, quietly.

'I know,' Remus answered. He sighed and let his own body fall into the grass. He stared at the sky above him and then turned his head towards Sirius. 'I actually missed having you guys around this summer. It was weird.'

'Yeah, but we're here now, Moony. We've got your back.'
