Taylor's POV

*3 months later*

"Yes mom, yes I know. I understand that. Yes you can visit. I know. I miss you too." It almost sounds rehearsed now as I talk to my mom on the phone.
"Okay sweetie! Love you bye!" She made a kissing noise and I internally groan.
"Yo dude lets fucking go!" Chris shouts from the rented moving van. We rented it for three days with the help of his parents. We were smart too and brought all my stuff to his house before hand.
"I'm coming you shit!" I laugh. I turn to his mother.
"Bye mom!" I hug her and run to the passenger side. She laughs and waves. Then my dad calls. I sigh.
"He's calling again isn't he?" Chris asks as he backs the van up. We're on our way to the new apartment we're renting for university.
"Yup. Third one in the last hour." I pinch the bridge of my nose.
"Thank god my parents are actually glad to get rid of me. They never thought I'd go to college." Chris laughs. He runs a hand through his wavy dark ginger hair. I always used to make fun of him telling him how girly he looked and how it was odd that he didn't have a single freckle. I'm sure girls are jealous of his hair.

"So, whens Betty showing up?" I ask. They'd really hit it off that Christmas break and are still going strong.
"Her and Anna are moving in around the beginning of the semester." The two girls had decided to share an apartment like he and I had done. Jazz had decided to go to a community college back in Michigan, not sure when we'll see her again.
Allie and Ella had moved up to Newfoundland in Canada, taking Mike with them. That little kiss ass would die without Allie by his side. They were as close as Chris and I were if not closer.
Lee had already left for Harvard and sent emails every now and then. Despite the tall boy acting like he hated us all, I knew it made him happy knowing we still wanted to talk to him. Going to a school where everyone is just as smart, if not smarter then him is definitely taking a chunk of his ego.

Chris reaches for the radio and pops in one of his CDs.
"Oh god what'd you put in now?" I ask dramatically. He shoves my arm.
"Group love."
"What the fuck is that?" I ask.
"It's one of my bands. I don't think you'll hate them." That's never a good sign.
"This is my favorite! It's ways to go." Chris cranks it and rolls down both windows. I try to shrink in my seat and his drags me back up. The both of us had gotten extremely fit. His dad was a body builder and when we got bored over the last couple months I'd been staying with them he'd really gotten us in shape. It's nice.

"I've got a ways to go!" Chris belts the lyrics and I wince.
"You sound like a cat when its drowing!" I yell over the music.
"Shut up and let me sing!" He glares. My eyes widen.
"Eyes on the damn road!" He rolls his eyes and keeps driving.
Am I going to die here?
He continues to play the music and slams his palms against the steering wheel as though it's a drum set.

After around an hour he's tired himself out so we switch to some of the offspring and lower the volume. He's already given me a headache and I take an advil dry.
"How much longer?" Chris whines.
"You're the one driving." I point out. He shoots me another glare.
"Chris, it takes 36 hours. I told you we're stopping at that hotel in about, 10 hours." He huffs.
"We gotta make this exciting. I don't know how long I can stand being a car like this."
"Thanks." I roll my eyes.
"Come on stop being such a stick I'm the mud." He pouts.
"Well give me a second to call my dad back- oh speak of the devil." I roll my eyes. I answer.
"Hey dad." I answer.
"Why haven't you been answering?" He demands.
"We were loading the truck. I left my phone in the spare room and just grabbed it. Sorry." I lie easily. He sighs.
"Are you on the road now?" He asks.
"Yup."
"Hi Mr. Crow!" Chris screams.
"Chris says hi."
"Hi Chris!" My dad screams just as loud.
"My dad says hi back." I sigh. They both laugh.
"Alright then. Call me when you reach the hotel."
"Yes dad."
"Bye son." I hang up.
"I like this calling thing. Let's call, lets call Betty." I nod and dial her number.

"Hey Taylor!" She picks up on the second ring.
"Hey." I put it on speaker.
"Any reason you're calling?" She asks.
"Chris got bored of me."
"Hey babe!" Chris yells.
"Chris its on speaker you don't have to yell." I laugh.
"Hi hun! How're you guys doing?" She asks.
"We're good. Did you know its like 36 hours? I'm gonna die here and your not gonna be with me." Chris whines.
"Then don't die." She laughs.
"That's all you've gotta say?" He says in shock.
"What'd you want me to say?" She asks.
"Dry." I laugh. She laughs with me.

We switch who's phone were using and mine charges on the aux cord. I end up driving for the last 2 hours and we reach the hotel. It's dark out now and we agree to just crash in our clothes and get to driving again.

It's the same routine the next night, and by the third we crash in the van before unpacking the next morning.

"Fuck its heavy." Chris grunts.
"I know." I moan in pain. We've been trying to this damn fridge up the stairs because its just our luck that the elevator is broken.
"Excuse me. Do you boys need some help?" A woman who looks early forties asks.
"My husband should be able to help you." She adds.
"Um." Before I can answer Chris cuts me off.
"Yes. Oh that would be lovely miss." I roll my eyes. He's only polite around older people. And damn are they suckers for him. His red locks and pale skin make it damn near impossible for anyone to not love him. When we were younger and I told him my sexuality he kissed me. Then spit on the ground saying sorry that he was straight. He's always been the same. Even Mike and Lee were shy around me for a little bit. They got over it and we were all back to normal by the end of the month.

Soon enough a middle aged man was helping us lull the thing upstairs. He and his wife even agreed to help us with the rest of the boxes. We lived 3 doors down from them.

When all the boxes were in, Lori and Evan left us to unpack ourselves.
The majority was just removing tape. We'd just taped the drawers for our dressers with our clothes still inside and some little knick knacks like the damn pop up figurines Chris loves so much.

The dishes we had just bought from the dollar store, but were surpringly nice and incredibly cheap. I took charge of that considering Chris can break an iron pan, its best not to explain that.
"Yo! Come check out the view! We can see the uni!" Chris yells from the balcony. I set the cups down and jog to the balcony. It was getting dark out and the campus was lit up, a fountain in the middle with faint changing colored lights could be seen. I hear a click and look over to see Chris take a picture. He was coming here to perfect his photography. He has a backup plan of working as a stripper as he says.
"It's beautiful." He whispers.
"That it is." Kyle would love this.

"Your thinking about Kyle again aren't you?" He asks. I nod.
"I think he'd like your longer hair." He tries to joke. I'd grown my hair out so my curls almost reach my shoulders.
"You think?" I joke back.
"10 months man." He claps my shoulder.
"That's 11 months too long." I sigh.
"What time is it?" Chris asks. I pull out my phone and see the lock screen of Kyle with twenty one pilots. That might be creepy, but I could care less.
"A little past midnight holy shit." My eyes widen.
"It should be around 8am there. Give him a call." I haven't spoken since he left. For a whole month of cry at the thought of him.
"Y-you think I should?" I ask warily. Chris grins and nods. I smile and click his icon. My heartbeat increases and I'm nervous.

"Put it on speaker. I want to hear the shock." Chris laughs. I click speaker.

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

Ri- "Hello?" A voice says.
"Hey, Kyle! I-I miss you, I know its been a while-"
"This isn't Kyle. Who is this?" The voice asks. My phone slips from my hands and it hangs up.
"Wh-what?"
"Oh, Taylor, come here man." Chris steps over my phone and tears prick my eyes. Soon I'm crying on his shoulder. How am I supposed to talk to Kyle now? Who was that? Did Kyle move on?

That was, unexpected.
