We drive up the rock filled path to the lake, Danse rubs circles along my thigh as we turn onto Lake Shore Road.

"I hope you're okay. What happened back there was intense." Danse whispers, I guess its to keep our conversation quiet.

"I did what I had to. Thank you for saving me." I kiss his cheek and rest in his arms, for the first time tonight feeling safe.

"Sleep, lovely. I'll wake you when we arrive at the lake." with no further instruction I allow myself too slip into a dreamless sleep.

 Danse's P.O.V

I'm so grateful we got there in time. God knows what I would have done if anything had happened to him or our growing bundle of love. When he comes to I need to remember to talk to him about baby names. I know it's way too early, but I want us to be ready.

"You really care about him, don't ya?" Kynar asks stretching out his limbs to get comfortable.

"I do, he means the world to me." Kynar smiles, chuckling softly.

"I have a little girl, her mother is a human so I rarely get to see her. I'll tell you, the moment you hold your baby is like having everything put into perspective. It's absolutely the best feeling on the planet." as Kynar speaks his eyes swell up in tears, it's obvious how much not being able to see his little girl is hurting him.

"What's her name?" I can't help, but ask.

"We named her, Hope. She's the most perfect little beauty. I love her and her mother so much." Kynar grins through his tears and wipes them on his sleeve.

"I promise when all this is over, you'll get to see your little Hope everyday." I wouldn't ever want to be in Kynar's position, he deserves so much better. He smiles and pushes his light brown hair from his face. I look down at my boy, his beautiful features calm and resting. I wish he saw how much I enjoy his affection, no matter how mistaken it may be. We're always gonna be at odds with our kind, with this new war sprouting it's only a matter of time until the Vyslock discovers of my involvement.

"Guys, we're here," Saks brings the van to a halt, the others pile out and I lift Adrian into my arms and carry him out to  the lake. Jade and the other members of my clan stand at my presence. Vast looks over Adrian and takes a step closer.

"Is he alright?" he asks, leading us to the tents they set up on my instructions.

"He's shaken up, but who could blame him? His own parents turned him in to their damned Elders," I rest Adrian down in the master tent, and step out to finish speaking with my cousin. "Have you tracked down, Oscar or any of the Elders?"

"No, after we left Jade and I tried to track their scents, but it seems they've been masked by something." I curse under my breath, and make way to the group of rebels. Saks and Jade are calming everyone down and step aside once I make my appearance.

"If you didn't know, we're officially at war with the Wolves. We Vampires are only free for a period of time, it won't be long until the Vyslock discovers what has transpired," I speak lowly, but loud enough to make my words clear.

"What is the Vyslock?" Perrie asks, being a witch she must not have studied the hierarchy of Vampire kind.

"The Vyslock my dear, are a collection of ancient Vampires that keep everything in our world under wraps," Zen throws a wink at the witch.

"The last few years, they've been limiting my Father's power as King, but once my coronation is over and done, those bastards are done for." I have never liked the Vyslock, they are a bunch of dictating bastards that only want to kill and slaughter.
