I try to fight against the guards as they drag my friends and I into the dungeon below the temple. I receive a heavy back hand from the largest guard, my body slamming against the grim walls.

"Watch it," Perrie kicks the guard in the gut, his body flying across the room. The other guard grabs the newborn by her blonde hair, pulling her along the way until we reach the cages and are thrown in one by one.

Saks growls angrily, snapping his bonds in half once we're locked in. I lift up my wrist, he does the same to mine while Ky does it for Perrie.

"I can't believe that bitch would do this to us!" Perrie exclaims, letting her hair out of the ponytail it was in.

"I shouldn't have been so naïve. Ansel told me that the spy was someone close to me, but I let Jade pass without suspicion." I stare down into my lap, the wound left by Jade's betrayal still fresh.

"Don't blame yourself, Danse. Jade took your kindness for weakness." Kynar sits beside me against the old stone walls.

No matter what is said I know this is my doing. I let Jade get close to us, allowed her to 'protect' Adrian, but in reality, all she did was plan against us. Plan to kill my babies and the love of my life. Because of me, Adrian is defenseless, unable to protect himself, because he sees Jade as an ally other than the treacherous harpy she truly is.

"So is this it? We're giving up?" Saks speaks through heavy breaths.

"What else can we do? We're prisoners of war. A war that has clearly been one sided." as the words leave my lips, the tears I've desperately fought against have spilt, leaving a trail along my undead cheeks.

"Danse, in the short time I've known you, I've learned you'll do anything for Adrian. Hell, you brought me from the brink of death to make him happy. You can't really be giving up." Perrie says, the warmness of her tone giving me an unbearable sliver of despair.

"Perrie, I'm at a loss. We have no way of stopping the Vyslock. Ansel only has so many rebels and my remaining loyalist will fall under Jade's command because she will most likely tell them that I died.": more tears begin to  form, but before they spill a large hand comes across my face.

"I didn't raise you to just quit, Danse." my eyes widen at the voice. I stare at the man, surprised to find him in the cell, surprised to find him alive.

"Dad? I-is that really you?" he nods, pulling me into a tight hug.

"Danse, you are the greatest vampire to have ever been born. You are the true heir to this kingdom. The Vyslock will never be able to take that from you."

"But Dad, look at us. An abdicated prince, a newborn, and two werewolves. We have no miniscule of a chance against the Vyslock."

"Follow me, Son." Dad leads me to the corner of the cage. A barely visible window is etched into the wall the view of it being the courtyard. The whole kingdom standing silently, still. Why are they immobile?

"Look at them Danse. These are your subjects, not the Vyslock's." I stare into the faces of the many civilians, many of them I've met in previous years of my life. The faces I thought would be full of joy at my imprisonment are instead replaced by looks of utter terror.

It just hit me, that they aren't willing subjects of the Vyslock. They're practically forced into acceptance. Their loyalties still lie with the Vampire Kingdom. Their loyalties still lie with me.

"Dad, what can I do from here? The Vyslock would never allow subjects to see me or even hear from me." Dad then smiles, a smile that shows the faith he has in me. In my group of misfit supernaturals.

"You're the King, Danse. Prove it."

 Adrian's P.O.V

                                                                                    * 4 days later *

I hold onto the pillow, my tears falling in large drops. I just can't believe he's gone. Jade, came back to the palace, we'd all hoped for the best, but we didn't hope enough. Danse along with the others died during an ambush from the Vyslock. Jade was the only one that managed to survive.

"Adrian, sweetheart calm down. Danse wouldn't want you to be like this." Ezra walks into my room, his arms surrounding me securely. I cry onto his chest, just hearing Danse's name makes my heart suffer.

"Ez, I can't just not cry. I'm carrying his babies which are do anytime now." before they left, Ky screened me. The triplets are growing at an accelerated rate and I should be due within the next few days.

"Adrian, just think about it; in less than a week, your beautiful triplets are gonna be here. They'll be every bit of him as they are you." I wipe my tears, a smile forming in the corner of my lips. I hug Ezra, his large arms wrapping around my bloated figure.

                                                                                                ***

After a well needed shower, I slip into the courtyard, my eyes stuck against the stars. When Perrie, Saks, and I were kids, she used to teach us witchery techniques. Star cross readings, tarot readings, and palm readings. Although things were always clearer for her, I was good at understanding them.

Tonight, I gaze upon the stars, they aren't the same. Their positioning seems, off in a way, like someone is manipulating their movements. I might be losing my mind, but in case of an important message, I run quickly scavenge a pen and paper. I use what Pez taught me to block out unwanted stars so that the picture comes out clearer.

After a few moments, I make out the letters, 'A', 'V', 'L', 'I', 'E'. I scribble them out on the paper, after dozens of unusual guesses, I make out the letters to form... Oh my god.

 Alive? Alive!

Perrie, she had to have done this. If this is Pez, that means she's alive and maybe, Danse is with her.

The stars begin to move again, their shapes shifting around to form another set of letters. I decipher this quicker than the last, the word being: Dungeon.

"Dammit, Pez. Come on, you've got to give me something a bit clearer," the next alignment shows that she knows I'm getting the messages. They scatter and align in an elegant fashion, the stars spelling out the four words that strike fear directly into my heart.

  Babies Are In Danger.

The stars slowly return to their original positions. I wipe the tears forming in my eyes. I begin to rise from my crouched position, but just as I get to my feet, a coolness runs down my legs. My heart leaps from my chest, my hand instantly shoots down to my stomach just as the first on a few contractions hit.

"Shit," I gasp out. Ezra and Jade come running out to the courtyard, Ezra runs to my side supporting me with one of his arms.

 "What's wrong?"

"Ez, my babies are coming. It's time."
