I STARED BACK AT THE PERSON WHO I tried to be deeply, irrevocably and fervently in love with, the person who had thrown me to the wolves because of his debauched ulterior motives.
So, yes, if you must know, all the pretending had been thrown right in front of my face. If anything, we were both using each other.
I was supposed to be propelled by my contempt for him and what he had done, but all I could do was stare into his crystal blue eyes that once had icy shards embedded to them, eyes that were so aloof. These were the eyes that deceived me.
"Braden?" I whispered in incredulity, my eyebrows knitting together as I gazed upon the person who took everything away from me, when I thought all along that he could be my everything. "What are you doing here?"
