What is happening to me!

"What do you mean?"

Mia's POV

I was laying in bed and I had this vision of some guy, he had the same power as Daniel and he was shooting fire at us. I shot up sitting up in bed breathing heavily like I had just had a nightmare. I heard people talking in the hallway and I started to calm down, they all came into the cortex and I stood up slowly. I looked over at them and saw the guy from my vision, I started to back up a little freaked out. "What's wrong?" Brian asked. "Him, he's not who he says he his." I said. We all looked at the guy who was still in the hand cuffs, "what are you talking about, I'm not even one of those super powered freaks." He said. "I find that offensive since there's five of those 'super powered freaks' in the room." I said icing up my hand. He put his hands up in surrender and I squinted my eyes at him. "I wouldn't trust him if I were you." I said. I leaned up against the wall and crossed my arms over my chest. Brian walked over to me and stood next to me, "you ok?" He asked. "Yeah, I just don't trust him, I had this vision of him, he had the same power as Daniel and he was shooting at us." I explained. My phone vibrated in my pocket, I looked at it and Nathan was calling. "I have to take this, hello?" I said walking into the other room. "Hey, there's an emergency over here at the station you need to get over here like now!!" He said. "I'll be over as soon as I can." I said then hung up. I ran out into the cortex "I have to get to work, bye." I said giving Brian a kiss. I raced out and changed on the way. I ran into the precinct to see everybody in a corner with their hands tied together with pieces of cloth. Nathan saw me but no one else did, I put my finger up to my lips telling him to not say anything, "Um, hi, your boss sent me, I'm the new tech kid." I said putting out my hand. He took it and we shook "hey, is that guy here to knock you out?" I said pointing with my other hand. "Where?" He looked the other way and I flipped him, "right behind you." I said. He got up and ran over to me, he started to swing at me and I dodged every swing. I got a couple punches in and a kick, the last swing I made was hard. I swung at him and hit the side of his head, I think I broke a couple fingers. He fell to the floor unconscious and I bent over holding my hand. I went over to the group of people and started to untie Nathan, then he started to help others. After everyone was untied Nathan came over "hey, you ok?" He asked. "I'm fine but that last punch hurt. It was like punching steel." I explained. Nathan grabbed a wrap for my hand and started wrapping it, he finished and my phone vibrated, I had gotten a text from Brian 'Hey everything ok at work you left in a hurry. Call me when you can.' I put my phone in my back pocket and went up to my lab. I walked in and saw someone sitting in my chair by the window, she stood up when she heard me clear my throat. When I saw her face I couldn't believe who I was staring at, "Aunt Melissa?" I said. "Mia, how are you?" She said. When I was a child I loved my aunt, she was like a big sister to me. Then one day my parents told me bad news.

"Aww, how's my favorite niece?" Aunt Melissa said. "I'm your only niece." Little me said. She picked me up and swung me around holding me in her arms. "How about we go out for some ice cream while your parents go to work, then we could go to the park or something." She suggested. We went out and had a blast.

Three days later...

"Hey, um.. I'm gonna be going away now but I will be back soon." Aunt said trying not to cry. A tear ran down my cheek. "Promise?" I said putting out my pinky. She hooked her pinky around mine and said "pinky swear." She said. I smiled and hugged her tightly, "I have to go before I miss my flight for China." She said and stood up.

One month later...

"Mia can you come here, please?" My mom said. I walked into the living room "yes, mom?" I asked. "There's been an accident, aunt Melissa's work was in a fire.... Aunt Melissa's didn't make it out." My mom explained. I cried for days, I refused to eat most days.

Now...

I stood there staring at my aunt who was supposed to be dead, "I thought you were dead." I said. "What your parents told you wasn't true, they were just trying to protect you." She said walking over to me. "Protect me from what?" I asked. She took my hands and said "from me." I started to back up and ended up bumping into Nathan. "Everything ok in here?" He asked me as I walked back to stand next to my aunt. "Who's this?" He asked. "Oh, um, this is my aunt Melissa. Aunt Melissa this is my boss Nathan." I introduced them. "I need you to run some test on this, when your done run it straight to captain." He said. I nodded and put it on my desk, he walked out and I looked over to my aunt. "Tell me something that would make me believe that my parents lied to me to keep me safe." I said raising my voice. "Grandma and grandpa were very special people. They had powers." She explained. I looked at her strange, "It's supposed to skip a generation, so when your mom was born she never had any powers. I did. Your mom was happy for me and one day we were messing around and my power went out of control and everything flashed before my eyes. Next thing I knew your mom was on the floor unconscious." She explained. Nothing made sense to me so I started to ask "so my mom doesn't have powers and my dad doesn't have powers, would I have powers?" I asked. "No, I'm sorry." She said. My phone rang and I saw it was my mom, "it's my mom, what do I say?" I said. "Anything just don't tell her I'm here." She said. I answered the phone and said "hi, mom." "Hey, how come it took you so long to pick up your phone?" She asked. "Oh it was under some papers I had on my desk, so what's up?" I said. "Oh I have a present for you, do you think you could hurry home?" She asked. "Um maybe I'll have to ask my boss, a emergency came up at work and I was called in like right away." I explained. "Is everything alright what happened?" She asked a little concerned. "It was nothing just some guy trying to take everyone in the station hostage." I said. "I have to go mom, I'll call you when I'm on my way home." I said. "Okay, bye." She said. "Bye." I said then hung up the phone. "Do you have any water?" Aunt Melissa asked. I shook my head and grabbed my water bottle, she opened it then put it on the table. She lifted her hand and I watched as the water started to float in the air. Then she started to turn her hand and all of the water started to evaporate. "Okay I have something to tell you and I'm trusting you to keep this a secret, who ever it is do not tell anyone unless they already know." I said. "Sure whatever it is it will stay between us." She said. "Not here though." I said.  "I'm kind of hungry, let's go out to eat then you can tell me that secret." She asked me. We went out to a restaurant near by and ate, we ordered desert and got the bill, "I wanted to tell you sooner you know." Aunt Melissa said. "But you had to keep me safe." I said finishing her sentence. We finished up and started walking out, "Mia, what is it that you want to tell me?" Aunt Melissa asked. I grabbed her arm and pulled her over to behind a wall, "ready?" I asked. She shook her head, I put my hand up making a snowball form. She looked at me and smiled, "wait there's more." I raced around her then stopped and flew up. "One more." I said. I grabbed her hand and I flew up with her, I let one hand go and her eyes widened. "Relax, I've got you." I said. I let her other hand go and she stayed where she was, "I still got you even though I'm not holding you." I said. She looked down and her eyes widened even bigger, "can you put me down, please?" She laughed. I chuckled and put her down, I heard something behind us walking and I turned around. "One more thing I can hear things from long distances and I hear something walking towards us." I said. All of the sudden I heard a gun shot go off and it hit the wall next to us, "run, go!" I said as I grabbed my backpack from the ground. I quickly changed into my suit and threw my bag back, he walked closer and I saw that it was Nathan. "What do you want with this city!?" He asked. "I'm here to do the same thing as you, keep people safe." I explained to him, apparently he wasn't on the same page as me because he shot at me again. "I was a citizen here too, until something happened to me, I want to help people not HURT THEM!" I explained. "I don't believe you, I think your a public menace!" He shot another bullet my way. "Will you calm down on the gun there, let's just talk." I said trying to make him stop shooting at me. He wouldn't level with me, I had to get out of this. "Mia, there's a woman about to fall, she's hanging on the side of the holiday inn on Packers road." Joey said. "I'm going to save someone's life now, good chat." I said speeding off. I stopped right outside and looked up, I flew up and stopped right beside her. "Ma'am I need you to reach for my hand, if I touch the building it will collapse since its on fire." I said. "I can't, if I do I'm afraid I'll fall!" She said. "You won't fall, trust me!" I said trying to calm her down. She reached over and grabbed my hand, "now I'm going to pull you to me, ready?" I said. She nodded, I pulled her over and put her arm around my shoulder. I put her down on the ground and she hugged me, she let go "thank you!" She said. "Your welcome now I have to go save other people, from getting crushed by a building." I laughed and flew off. I flew inside to see if anyone else was in there when I heard someone scream for help, I ran over and saw a little girl walking out of her room. "MOMMY!" She screamed. I raced over to her froze all the flames until there where none left, "here get on my back, we are gonna go for a little ride." I smiled and made her smile too while she got on my back. She coughed a couple times on my way out, once we were at the door way I heard a crumbling noise. I quickly covered the little girl as the building fell, "MOLLY!" I heard a woman scream from outside. The dust cleared and I stood up with the little girl holding my hand, we walked over to every one and the woman I saved ran over. The little girl ran over to the lady and they hugged, "thank you so much for saving Molly." The woman said. "No problem." I said. "Mia you need to get here now Joey has gone out of control!" Brian said. "Well duty calls, I'll see you around." I said the sped off. I stopped in the cortex and saw Miya on the ground and everyone trying to make Joey calm down. "JOEY, you need to calm down!" I said. He turned to me and turned his skin to metal, I put my hand up making him stop. Then after a couple seconds he turned his skin to normal and stood up straight, I let him go and everyone ran over to Miya. "Miya, Miya!" I said to see if she was conscious. I felt the side of her neck to find a pulse, I sighed in relief. Daniel put her in a bed, and I sat right next to her. I grabbed her hand and all of the sudden I started feeling weak, I put my hand up to my head "what's wrong?" Brian asked. "Nothing, just got a little light headed for some reason." I said. Miya had a big cut and suddenly now it was gone, "whoa, Mia, that big cut Miya had is now on you." Brian said. I let go of her hand and felt my cheek, I took my hand away and saw blood all over my fingers. I cleaned off the blood from my fingers and looked at the reflection from my phone. The cut was gone, I grabbed her hand again. Things started to get dark and I fell to the floor, I heard Miya scream and Brian ran over to me. I felt a hand on the bottom of my leg and back, I heard faint voices and I saw a light. Next thing I knew I was sitting up in my bed, I saw Brian in a chair with his eyes closed in the corner of my eye, I smiled. His eyes opened quickly and he saw me looking at him, "I haven't seen you sleep since that last sleep over we had when we were kids." I said. He got up and walked over to me, "its alive!" He laughed. I smiled even bigger, my smile disappeared when I realized I left my aunt at that diner. "Aunt Melissa!" I said then sped out to go get her. I came back and sat on the bed while aunt Melissa stood in front of the doorway, "is that your.." "My dead aunt, yes." I said interrupting him. "Hey, Brian." She said. "Does he know about the.."  She said wiggling her fingers. I nodded and she sighed in relief. "So um, how are you alive?" Brian asked. "Everything my parents told me were lies. Lies, lies, lies, how am I supposed to ask my mom about this 'oh hey mom just found out aunt Melissa is still alive and you lied to me about everything' like this is just crazy." I said. "Wait I can hear something." I said. "I'm serious Mathew (my dad) I think I saw Melissa at the diner." I heard my mom say. "There's no possible way she could be here after the letter you sent her threatening her if she came here to see Mia again, Janet (my mom) we're fine" I heard my dad say. "Fine but if your wrong I get to punch you in front of Mia, and by punch I mean punch!" My mom said. "It's my mom and dad, they can't see you in here!" All of the sudden I heard a knock on my window, "Miya?" I said then went to open my window. "Oh my gosh thank god you are here, have you been able to control your power yet?" I asked. She nodded and then looked to my aunt.  She pointed and I gave her a look saying don't ask!, "I am so glad your ok, once I was up I saw you on the floor." Miya hugged me and I hugged back. "Guys where did you go?" Brian asked. I looked at my hand and it was invisible, I stepped back and looked at both my hands now I was visible. "Miya I think you found something to do with your powers, I have a job for you." I said. "I need you to keep aunt Melissa hidden, my parents don't know she's here." I explained. "Mia?! You here?!" My mom asked. "Hide her, yeah I'm upstairs, I'll be down in a sec." I said. "No, we'll come up!" She said. "We'll be in the corner." Miya said. She grabbed my aunts hand and pulled her to the corner, my parents walked in and saw Brian there. "Hey, mom, dad, what's up?" I said. I saw a box in my moms hand, it was a small metallic box in the shape of a heart with decorations all over it. Brian sat next to me on the bed and they gave me the box, I opened it to find a locket sitting there. I picked it up and opened it, I saw my parents and I on one side and my aunt and I on the other. "We've been wanting to give you this when you were little, but after aunt Melissa died, you refused to do anything, then once you got over it we had totally forgotten that we had it until your father found it on his desk at work." My mom explained looking over to my father on the last part. "How did aunt Melissa die?" I asked. "Don't you remember, there was a explosion at aunt Melissa's job." My mom said. "That's not the excuse you told me when I was 8." I said standing up. My parents looked at each other with wide eyes, I know they started thinking to each other so I thought back to them. I KNOW YOUR THINKING, YOUR LYING TO ME! "I have something else for you, Miya you can let go of aunt Melissa now." I said. Suddenly they both showed up in the back corner, "you lied about aunt Melissa being dead, she was the person who told me the truth beside talking about her powers, and you took her away from me. You sent her a threat note to stay away from me, to keep me safe is that true?" I asked for anyone to answer. "Here." My aunt passed me an envelope. I opened it and started to read:
