Prologue

Sometimes sitting in your room, with a pair of headphones plugged in your ears is the only escape from a world which never treated you in the best ways. You feel as if you could cry forever without anyone telling you to be stronger. It's a paradise where you can only enter in your mind. Music flows through your ears, your eyelids close and create a whole new scenery, one where life actually looks easier, but of course that's not reality. I've never found out what reality is, eventhough I am living in it. Some say it's a life with no worries, others say it's a long lasting curse and some, like me, wish to never find out.

I'm Jessica Andrew, a 16 year old girl with a passion for music. I've experienced some difficulties in life, like having two separated parents who still live together because of their daughter and keep arguing as if I weren't there. Or suffering because my best friend is bullied everyday by my cousin, which hates me as equally, but never had the guts to bully me as well. My brother, Mason, who is 4 years older than me, is currently suffering from skin cancer and I visit him every Sunday. But I never manage to cope with the fact that my life is the worst I could ever wish for.
