As the sun peeked into the small room through the window, Grace tossed and turned, trying to prepare herself for the day ahead. Today was her first day back to school. Her third year. She hadn't left the house much the trial. People hadn't taken a liking to her innocence. Grace sat up and stole a glance at the clock. 5:30. Grace sighed, swinging her legs over the side of the bed, and standing up. She glanced back at the sleeping form on the bed. Anakin mouth hung open as he slept, his long hair was messy and covered much of his face. The blankets ended at his waist, cutting off any view of his legs. His arms though, were very visible. One hung over the edge of the bed, the finger just barely brushing the ground. The other lay on the bed next to his head.

Grace walked over to the closet, pulling out clothes for the day. She walked into the bathroom to change. When she had pulled on the t-shirt and jeans she ran a brush through her hair and gave her teeth a quick brush. When she was done she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She touched her hair, which had grown long over the months of trial and summer. Sitting on the sink was a simple, silver pair of scissors. She lifted them off the sink and before thinking about what she was doing she held the scissors to her hair and cut it off, letting it fall to the ground around her. She shook her head to get out any of the extras and stared at the new reflection in front of her. The hair now fell to just below her chin.

"I'll have to get it touched up later after school." She smiled. She kinda liked it short like this. She looked down at the hair on the floor and began to clean it up, attempting to get as much as she could with just her hands. When she had gotten as much as she could she stood back up and sighed, looking back at the mirror. Cutting her hair hadn't changed anything. She was still the woman who killed Metatron and got off her charges of murder. She slowly opened the door making her way back into the bedroom that she shared with her boyfriend. He was awake now and he sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing his eyes. He had clearly just woken up.

"Morning sleepy head." Grace said, walked over to him and ruffling his still messy hair. He looked up at her and did a double take.

"When did you cut your hair?" He asked, rubbing his eyes to make sure he wasn't imagining it.

"I just cut it. I wanted to try something new for this year." She gave him a warm smile as she moved over to the window to open it.

"I don't think you should be going to school here. There is another boarding school on the other side of the island. No one there would know what happened."

"I don't want to run away Anakin. I already discussed that with you. I want to finish my school here. My friends are here." She sighed and turned to him.

"I understand that, but just because you go there doesn't mean you can't see your friends here."

"Anakin, please drop it. I don't want to change what I already have." Grace told him. Trying to remain calm. This discussion had come up many times over the past few days.

"Alright. Just know that I am against this whole decision." Anakin stood up and made his way to the bathroom to change as well.

"I'm going to bring Sarah over to Dean's. I'll meet you at the cafeteria." Grace left the room, making her way to her daughter's room. When she entered Sarah's room she found her asleep in her crib. Sarah was almost a year and a half now, so she would be moving into a bed soon. Grace walked over and reached into the crib, moving Sarah's wavy brown hair out of her face. Sarah turned and rubbed her eyes, recognizing her mother's soft touch. She let out a yawn and looked up at Grace.

"Mama!" Sarah smiled and raised her arms up to Grace as she sat up. Grace lifted her up and out of the crib, bringing her to rest on her hips.

"You ready to go visit uncle Dean today baby girl?" Grace asked her. Sarah nodded quickly.

"Uncw Dee!" Sarah smiled at her mother.

"Alright, let's get you changed baby girl." Grace walked over to the. Grace pulled out a dress and pulled in on over Sarah's head. "Okay baby, let's go. She picked up Sarah and walked down the stairs to the door. She grabbed her coat and her new schedule that Anakin had given to her last night after they were passed out at dinner. She also grabbed her house keys and made her way out.

She walked down the street before stopping in front of a smaller house. Since Dean's father was a teacher and his brother was still in college he had been allowed to remain in a house here. After the events of the past two years Dean had decided to get a house near Grace incase she ever needed anything. Grace made her way to the door and knocked. She Dean didn't answer she knocked again. This time the door was slowly opened and a half away Dean stood just inside.

"What?" Dean asked, letting out a yawn.

"I'm dropping of Sarah, or did you forget you promised to watch her while I was in school?"

"Grace. Sorry. I just woke up." Dean scratched the back of his head. Sarah reached out for Dean to take her.

"Hey Sarah! You ready for a fun day with Uncle Dean?"

"Ye!" She laughed as Dean took her carefully out of Grace's arms.

"Remember, you will need to feed her breakfast and lunch. Either me or Anakin will pick her up after school today so you won't need to worry about dinner. She will need a snack between each meal. Only one snack though. She knows that. And no drinking while you are watching her." Grace gave him a glare as she spoke her last sentence.

"I know, I know. Don't worry. Sarah will be fine with me."

"I know. Thank you so much for this. I don't know if Doctor Watson could have taken another year of watching her." Grace laughed.

"Yeah. Well I don't mind."

"I'll see you later baby girl." Grace gave her a kiss on her forehead before turning to Dean. "Thank you again for this." She said as she gave him a hug.

"Of course." Dean returned the hug with his free arm before breaking out and watching Grace make her way down the street to the school.

By the time Grace arrived at the school it was seven and breakfast was just starting. She made her way through the crowded cafeteria, trying to avoid the people's looks. No one had recognized her yet, but no one was really paying attention. She managed to get through the line without any notice. She searched the crowd for someone she recognized, and was still her friend. She found Charlie seated with Sam and Cas and made her way over to them. Charlie and Cas were seniors this year, and Sam was a junior with her. She sat down with a friendly hello.

"Grace! You cut your hair! It looks so good like that." Charlie told her, giving her friend a hug. Grace gave a laugh.

"Yeah. I just cut it myself this morning. I was planning on getting it fixed up after school today though." Grace told her.

"Short hair looks good on you." Sam told her.

"Thank you. I think my hair is shorter than yours now." Grace gave a grin.

"Yeah, I guess so." Sam gave a chuckle.

"Grace, duck." Cas said, looking past her. Without even thinking Grace quickly dropped her head as an english muffin flew past where her head had been moments before. She glanced back and saw the kid at the table behind her glaring.

"Get out of our school murderer. You shouldn't be allowed to have come back this year!" The kid called. Grace turned away with a sigh.

"Don't listen to them Grace. They don't know what they are talking about." Charlie tried to reassure her.

"No, they are right. I shouldn't have gone to school this year. I just didn't want to run from my problems. I'm just stubborn like that." Grace gave a small smile as she picked at the pancakes on her plate. The bell rang and the four of them stood. "I'll see you guys later." Grace said, lifting her bag off the ground and walking out of the cafeteria to go to her first class for the day.
