Saturday couldn't come fast enough and the week drew on in a bit of a blur. The only times I actually looked forward to were History and Geography and Swim Club. I had decided to stick with what I knew and swim freestyle. My backup was backstroke though. During History and Geography I had to give America my address so he could come get me.
When Saturday finally came it was a bit of a struggle for me. It had been a while since I had done anything fun and hung out with someone so I was a little unsure. It was America, and he was an adorable dork, but it still felt strange to me.
"What's got you all worked up?" a voice asked from behind as I sifted through more shirts. I had gone back to my old home a few days ago to get the last of my things. It was awkward for both me and Anakin. I turned quickly and saw Dean standing in the doorway before turning back to the shirts.
"Oh. Well, I'm spending time with a friend?" I told him.
"Really? It been awhile since you've done something like that."
"Yeah. That's why I'm so worried. I mean the school still views me as a murderer. And I don't know what's going to happen today. I'm just nervous." I told him.
"First of all, I think you should decide on a shirt. You have been looking through the same ten for the past half hour. Yes I've been watching you. Secondly, you need to take a deep breath. You said you were going out with a friend, right? So then what could go wrong?" I decided not to mention that I had only met him a few days ago.
"Yeah I guess. And I think I'll do this shirt." I said as I held up a red and white plaid button up. I had shoved all my button ups to the back of my closet. I would have to pull them back out.
"Perfect. What time are you going out?" Dean reminded me of a protective father.
"He said he would be here at noon." I told Dean. There was silence for a moment. "You may want to finish getting ready. It's eleven thirty." Dean told me. I froze when he said that and grabbed my phone to double check. He was right.
"Get out of my room and I can finish getting ready Winchester." I snapped.
"You know it is still my room Miller. I'm just letting you use it." He reminded me.
"Out."
"Alright, alright." He held up his hands in defeat and left, closing the door before walking off.
I changed quickly into the button up, accompanied with a pair of plain denim jeans. I brushed my teeth quickly before running down stairs. I still had about ten minutes before America was supposed to arrive. I spent the rest of the time with Sarah. I sat with her on my lap in the living room when there was a knock at the door.
"That must be your friend." Dean said.
"I've got it. I said standing, still holding Sarah. I moved her to my hip for more comfort before walking over to the door. I pulled it open and standing there was America with a huge smile on his face.
"Hi Grace! Is this your daughter?" He asked, looking from.me to her.
"Yeah. This is Sarah." I told him. I looked down at her. "Can you say hi?" She always grew shy in front of people. Laying her head against my side to hide her face as best she could, she looked up at America and waved.
"Hi."
"Hi Sarah. You are really big. How old are you? He asked, crouching so he could look at her. She thought for a minute before holding up one finger.
"I'm one." She told him. He smiled.
"Wow! You are such a big girl!" He grinned and she smiled in return.
