Under the Weather

Poor Val

AN. Hi guys! So i got the idea for this when i came down with a virus or a bug (im not totally sure what it was all i know is i felt like shit) a few weeks back. I hope you like it. I may turn it into a series of one shots. Let me know if you want that. ENJOY! :)

Valkyrie's POV

We arrive back to Skulduggery's house after finishing up a case. I throw myself onto the nearest couch throwing my arm over my eyes. I didnt tell Skulduggery but i dont feel the best. My stomach is cramping a little and i feel a tad sick. Im sure im fine though. If its not early period crap its something i ate im sure.

Despite having the heating on and im wearing a jacket im a little cold so i pull a blanket that was in the back of the couch on top of me.

"You alright?" I hear a velvet like voice says. I peer at him from under my arm and give a simple nod. "Are you cold?" This time his voice is a little skeptic. "Its very warm," he states.

"Yeah," i start, "i dont know why im just kinda cold." I shrug.

"Hmmm..."he stares at me and from the way his head is tilted i can see theres slight concern.

"Im fine, really," i give a slight smile.

Due to my feeling like absolute crap it is a forced smile that i can only assume is unpleasant looking as he says, "Dear God. Dont ever smile like that again. Its unerving."

I frown and grunt. I lay like this for quite a while before something feels...off. Its that feeling you get were somehoe yiu just know youre about to vomit. In a flash im up and running to the downstairs bathroom, kneeling, lifting the toilet lid and puking.

Im there a few minutes and soon feel a soft hand on my back rubbing it in circles. "Youre not fine," Skulduggery says softly. We stay like that for a few minutes before he picks me up and caries me back to the couch. "Youre staying down here with me so i can keep an eye on you."

I dont object. He covers me with a blanket and tucks me in. He gets a basin and leaves in on the floor in case i get sick and gets me some water which i gladly accept, "Thanks Skul." I say hating how weak i sound. I close my eyes and rest.

Through out the night i get sick three more times. That isnt like me. Usually i just get sick once and im fine. Ugh. I think Skulduggery had notice this is the most ive ever gotten sick because he hasnt left my side. He is beside me on the pull out bed sitting up with a book in his hand. He thinks im asleep right now. He is absentmindedly combing my hair with my fingers. If i didnt feel horrible this is what id describr as heaven. The door bell rings. I feel Skulduggery press his teeth to my forhead as a kiss. He grunts probably feeling how warm i am. He gets up and goes to open the door. I faintly hear Tanith's voice before falling asleep.

Skulduggery's POV

Tanith just arrived with Ghastly hearing about Val and I finishing the case. They wanted to see how we are as nearly all of our cases end in a big fight with the enemy.

"Valkyrie's very sick," i say walking with them to the living room where we see a sleeping Valkyrie. I take my place back on the bed.

"Whats wrong with her?" Ghastly asks taking a seet in an arm chair.

"Stomach bug i think. Ive never seen her vomit so much." If i had a face id wince while saying that.

"Poor Val," Tanith says sadlt sitting on thr armrest of Ghastly's seat. "If you need us to get anything let us know."

I nod and remember something, "Actually yes could you get me some 7-up?"

"Um ok... why?" She asks utterly confused.

Ghastly is the one to answer, "Boiled 7-up helps settle the stomach."

"Ohhh. Sure. Come in Ghastly lets go buy 7-up! Bye Skul!" Tanith says walking to the door with Ghastly. He just waves. I faintly hear Tanith ask, "Ive never had 7-up. I dont drink fizzy drinks too often. Is it nice?"

"Heavenly," Ghastly replies, "however tea is much better." Then the door closes.

I look down on Valkyrie and sigh softly as i play with her hair, "Please be better tomorror." I hate seeing her sick or in pain. I go back to reading but i cant focus on the book with my mind focusing on Valkyrie.
