"Begin at the beginning," the King said, very gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop."

-Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

On Maras eighth birthday she found out she was different.

At school she handed out her invitations, the pastel pink envelopes were given to each and every child.

At her home pastel colored decorations covered the house, but no matter how beautiful the house was. No one came.

She sat alone questioning herself I her doll dress, before realizing it wasn't her, it was the children who didn't come. They were at fault.

She isolated herself, finding happiness in her eccentric ways. She still dressed in pastel Lolita dresses, and wore big colorful bows on top of her head. She colored half of her hair bright pink.

She was happy with who she was, even if that meant people thought she was crazy. Until she turned 16, walking home from the mall she was kidnapped. Taken to a cold place, and experimented on.

She hated the place she was taken to, the cold grey walls, she longer dressed in her Lolita gowns, and large bows. Her bright hair faded into a dull blonde.

Although she did have companions, people she might be able to call friends, if she could hold off the thoughts of killing them for more than five minutes.

You see, the tests placed on her body, made her a killing machine. She could handle any weapon, use any form of fighting techniques. She also couldn't stop killing people.

The effects of the tests were that she couldn't hold off on killing anybody, unless she was sedated. Mara often laughed at this because now, she really was crazy.

Authors note: yay I can't wait to write more of this story. Mara is  such a badass
